Ron DeSantis signed a bill to require the teaching of the dangers and atrocities of communism in grades K-12. OK, but why did we need a law to do this? Aren't Florida schools already teaching political and economic isystems? Sounds like grandstanding by the Gov one more time. Poke an easy target while his party refuses to provide aid to Ukraine, who was invaded by you know who and what. Sad. Del goes into McGyver mode to essentially wreck both our microphones. Bucks are starting a Gofundme page to raise $500 for new mics. In the meantime, Dave sounds like he has cotton in his mouth and Del is in a tunnel. Dave gives the Sarasota Film Festival two thumbs up. He watched the five live action shorts nominated for an Oscar. These include: The After, Red, White and Blue, Knight of Fortune, Invincible , and The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar. Henry won the Oscar but they were all excellent films. He also saw the full-length feature Thelma, about a 93-year old woman who is scammed and decides to do something about it. Richard Roundtree's last role. This was June Squibb's first movie at age 94! His main objective at SFF was to see The Mammoth Hunt, the Lithuanian documentary about theatre director Jonas Jurasas and how he was forced to leave the country in 1972 after running afoul of the Soviet censors. Here's the letter that made it to the West. The film director is Aistė Stonytė’ The Kaunas National Drama Theater director is Egidijus Stancikas. Each fallen student was a real person with a promising life ahead. Julia and all her colleagues in the project have shown strength, energy, and wisdom beyond their years. In addition to commemorating the lives of the forty students and others like them killed by Russia, Unissueddiplomas.org seeks to honor their legacy by investing in the future through the education of Ukraine's next generation. We encourage you to visit their website. Read the eulogies of these students. Donate to help them expand the number of venues and fund the education of Ukrainian students.
