It is estimated that the child mortality rate for the Followers of Christ between 2002 and 2011 was 10 times that of Idaho as a whole. In 2013, Linda went public about the many religious medical neglect deaths of children in Idaho, and she continues to bring awareness to the religious medical neglect of children. With the late Rita Swan, Linda helped set up the website idahochildren.org which has links to important articles and information about laws in the United States that allow religious exemptions to medical care for sick children. She went on to study at Islamic seminaries in Iran and Lebanon and completed her Master’s of Science in Education from the City College of New York in 2018. Jeff Beaumont was born into Scientology and educated at the local Scientology school in Vancouver, BC, Canada. At age 14, he was kidnapped and trafficked to the USA to perform labour in the Sea Org branch of Scientology. During that time, Jeff was forced to disconnect from his mother, who was out of Scientology at that point. On returning to Vancouver, he spent about 10 more years on staff at the church of Scientology. In 2012, Jeff woke up - and he has been working on his recovery ever since. The Testaments, her most recent novel, is a co-winner of the 2019 Booker Prize. It is the long awaited sequel to The Handmaid’s Tale, now an award-winning TV series. Margaret’s other works of fiction include Cat’s Eye, finalist for the 1989 Booker Prize; Alias Grace, which won the Giller Prize in Canada and the Premio Mondello in Italy; the Blind Assassin, winner of the 2000 Booker Prize; the MaddAddam Trilogy; and Hag-Seed. Ms. Atwood is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Peace Prize of the German Book Trade, the Franz Kafka International Literary Prize, the PEN Center USA Lifetime Achievement Award, and the Los Angeles Times Innovator’s Award. Together with her late husband Graeme Gibson, Margaret was also awarded the Nature Canada Award for Conservation Advocacy. Philip Moss - Athletes in Action Exposed Divorced: Christianity CW: Child abuse, sex/purity culture Philip Moss grew up in a small midwestern ultra conservative farming community and Reformed Church tradition, after which he attended a conservative Christian College and then spent 7 years with the Campus Crusade for Christ (cult) as a basketball player for Athletes In Action, prior to obtaining his master's degree in counseling/psychology at a Southern Baptist Seminary in Denver. Then, within one year, Phil left religion and the church. In his own words, he has been in a 'deconstruction mode" for the last 32 years. Phil has been a licensed professional counselor/therapist and administrator for over 30 years and is currently transitioning to a focus on religious deconstruction and spiritual healing.
