The company is facing a criminal investigation and legal action related to the recent safety incident. ON THIS EPISODE OF THE BAP Boeing has withdrawn its request for a temporary exemption from certification rules for its 737 Max 7 aircraft. The exemption was requested due to a potential overheating risk caused by an engine anti-ice system. United Airlines and Alaska has resumed using its Boeing 737 MAX 9 jets for passenger flights. Ryanair CEO Michael O'Leary has expressed interest in picking up early deliveries of the Boeing 737 Max 10 if United Airlines decides not to take them. O'Leary defended the Max aircraft, stating that United's comments about removing the Max 10 from its internal planning were not helpful. Ryanair has 150 Max 10s on order, with deliveries starting in 2027. Turkish Airlines has signed a deal with Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) to lease 10 new Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. On this episode on the BAP✈️ My good friend David Osadebey joins Ryan and I in the studio. David is from Nigeria, he started training at Simaero in 2018 as a brand new commercial pilot. He enrolled on an Embraer 145 type rating course like many others before him. David was different, he embodied a growth mindset like I have never seen before. Through sheer hard work and determination, David has become one of the most competent hard working aviators I have very met. He is mentor to young African aviators and has earned the highest respect amongst his instructors and colleagues. Today David is the captain on a Legacy 600 and it's an absolute pleasure to have him in our studio today. **AVIATION NEWS✈️** This was a bad week for aviation safety. Airlink flight 4Z 204, operated by an Embraer 135 Regional Jet, experienced a runway excursion upon landing at Pemba in Mozambique. The aircraft had 32 passengers and three crew members on board, all of whom disembarked safely. 50 passengers & 3 crew members are safe after their American Airlines Embraer ERJ-145LR plane(N922AE) operating Flight 5811 slid off the runway this evening during landing at Greater Rochester International Airport. One pilot was killed and the other injured after a Fokker 50 operated by Kenya's Jetways Airline crashed a building in Somalia. An Ethiopian Airlines De Havilland Canada Dash 8-400 suffered a runway excursion and landing gear collapse after landing at Mekele Airport today in Ethiopia, with no injuries reported.
