Throughout 2020, BluePrint Medical responded to the impacts of border closures and flight cancellations, reduced demand, and a restricted candidate pool of doctors, with a proactive approach to communicating with clients and bringing vulnerable doctors home from interstate. The business realised that the only way to help the clients and doctors in need was to simply focus on local work. The plan helped BluePrint Medical win the Best Response to the Pandemic – Innovation Award, which recognised new strategies – planned and implemented in response to COVID-19 – that demonstrated innovation or creativity. The competition was a great success with a 2500 percent increase in ‘submariner officer’ applications year on year.
