Wei Wuxian is caught helping the other students cheat and is sent to the library pavilion to copy rules as punishment. Lan Wangji is sent to supervise him and make sure he doesn't cheat. Wei Wuxian gets bored easily and tries to bother Lan Wangji, but he is ignored. Finally, Wei Wuxian pulls a prank on Lan Wangji and swaps out his book with a book of pornography! Lan Wangji is enraged and tears the book into pieces before shouting “get lost!” The next day they run into Lan Xichen who tells them about a situation of water ghouls nearby. Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng volunteer to help. During the hunt, they discover that the water ghouls are actually a waterborne abyss sent by the Wen Clan. After the hunt is over, Wei Wuxian flirts with the fruit sellers in Caiyi town, which angers Lan Wangji. Support the Show. Wei Wuxian is taken into the lan clan against his will. The more he interacts with Lan Wangji the more he realizes he doesn’t know him at all! He finds secret alcohol hidden in Lan Wangji’s personal rooms, and sees that there are scars from the discipline whip all across his back. Wei Wuxian still wants to leave, so he acts more crazy and shameless to try and get kicked out. But Lan Wangji accepts his shamelessness and doesn't let him go. Then we enter a flashback as Wei Wuxian thinks back on how he met Lan Wangji as a teenager, and how different he is now compared to back then. He and his peers are visiting cloud recesses for lessons. On his first night, Wei Wuxian gets caught breaking the rules and fights Lan Wangji. Then the next day he causes trouble in class and gets kicked out by Lan Qiren. The students are amazed by his brazenness, but Lan Wangji is not amused. Support the Show. Wei Wuxian punishes himself for insulting Jin Ling and decides to leave the mountain so that he doesn't get in the way of Jin Ling’s nightunt. But then he realizes that the creature is more dangerous than everyone expected. He rushes to the shrine of the heavenly maiden, just as it comes to life and begins to devour the cultivators’ souls. Wei Wuxian is forced to summon a ghost to fight against the statue, and ends up summoning the feared ghost general Wen Ning. Jiang Cheng suspects him of being possessed by the ghost of Wei Wuxian and strikes him with Zidian, but nothing happens. Wei Wuxian acts super gay to scare away Jiang Cheng and Lan Wangji, but then Lan Wangji declares that he will take Wei Wuxian back to the Lan Clan with him. Support the Show. Wei Wuxian travels to Mount Dafan in search of evil spirits to control, and finds himself in the middle of a giant nighhunt, where cultivators are trying to solve the mystery of a soul eating spirit. He runs into a Jin teenager, and insults him, but he turns out to be his nephew Jin Ling. Jiang Cheng, Lan Wangji, and the Lan Juniors also appear. Jiang Cheng and Lan Wangji get into an almost-fight over the golden nets, but Jiang Cheng decides to reign in his temper for politics. The juniors are sent off to finish the night hunt, and Wei Wuxian finds himself alone on the mountain. Support the Show. Luo Binghe tries some new techniques he’s learned from reading The Regret of Chunhan, and a new series called The Song of Bingqiu. A pot of wine is involved. A few weeks later, the disciples chase Shen Qingqiu and Luo Binghe off the mountain. They decide to travel to Shuang Hu City, where they run into Madam Meiyin. Shen Qingqiu realizes that all her predictions came true. Then they go to Chen Manor to help remove an evil spirit. It turns out to be the skinner demon, whose spirit is rested after finding out that Shen Qingqiu is being bleeped by his own disciple. Support the Show. Shen Qingqiu is stuck in Luo Binghe’s dream realm, and his heart aches to see Luo Binghe suffering alone. When he wakes up, he is overwhelmed by his love for Luo Binghe and embraces him. The next day, Luo Binghe suffers a qi deviation and transforms into a 5 year old boy. They hide in a human city while Luo Binghe recovers, but Luo Binghe becomes jealous when the neighborhood aunties want to matchmake Shen Qingqiu. They flee to Cang Qiong Mountain, but there is a huge misunderstanding when everyone thinks that Shen Qingqiu gave birth to a son! Luo Binghe is frustrated by his powerless self, afraid that Shen Qingqiu will leave him, but Shen Qingqiu promises to always choose him. Support the Show. Shang Qinghua runs away from Mobei Jun and decides to return to his original world, but he just can’t seem to click the button to return. While wandering, he runs into Mobei Jun’s uncle, who tries to rip off his arm. But Mobei Jun arrives just in time, saving him. Shang Qinghua decides that he’ll stay in PIDW and become a writer, he just loves his story too much to leave. In the next chapter, Shen Qingqiu finds himself stuck in a dream realm, reliving Luo Binghe’s memories. Luo Binghe holds Shen Qingqiu’s corpse and uses spiritual energy to mend his body. Shen Qingqiu is reminded of a winter night where he also healed a teenage Luo Binghe’s injuries by hugging him and transferring spiritual energy. In the flashback, Luo Binghe squirms and cries out, and Shen Qingqiu wonders if he’s actually terrible at healing. Support the Show. After the battle on Mai Gu Ridge, the system offers Shang Qinghua a way to return home. But before Shang Qinghua can make a decision, Mobei Jun appears to take him to the demon realm for his succession ceremony. Shang Qinghua and Mobei Jun get into an argument, and Shang Qinghua is told to leave. But as Shang Qinghua is leaving, he sees Mobei Jun’s uncle Linguang-Jun arriving. Worried that Linguang-Jun will kill Mobei Jun, Shang Qinghua sneaks back and hides in the ceiling. When Linguang-Jun finally makes his move, Shang Qinghua interrupts and pretends to get revenge on Mobei Jun. He throws out a fire spell that is deadly to Mobei demons, but instead of attacking Mobei Jun, he creates a protective fire circle around them. Support the Show. Shang Qinghua saves Mobei Jun, and ends up taking care of him when he gets sick from his injuries. When he returns to the sect, he becomes a spy for Mobei Jun, and he proves his worth by becoming the head disciple. As the head disciple, he gets sent on more dangerous missions, and eventually he is sent on a mission with Shen Qingqiu and Liu Qingge. However Shen Qingqiu and Liu Qingge hate each other, and they end up fighting and parting ways. Shang Qinghua gives a heartfelt warning to Shen Qingqiu, saying that if he ever sees someone fall into a qi deviation, he needs to remain calm and find help, instead of rashly trying to save them. We learn the history of Zhuzhi-lang, and how he became the general of Tianlang-jun. Though Tianlang-jun forces himself to hate humans after being betrayed by Su Xiyan, in the end, he finds that he can’t hate humans after all, even if it's painful to love them. Next, we are in the perspective of Airplane Shooting Towards the Sky, the “great” author of PIDW. He gets transmigrated into the novel after dying while responding to hate comments. He is in the body of Shang Qinghua and is running an errand, when he runs into Mobei Jun, a vicious ice demon. Mobei Jun kills all the other disciples, but instead of fighting, Shang Qinghua clings to Mobei Jun’s leg and begs for his life. Support the Show.
