The Complementarian vs. Egalitarian debate has caused untold amount of arguments and division in the Church throughout the years. Complementarian's believe that women have limited roles in Church leadership while Egalitarian's believe men and women can hold the same positions in Church leadership. There's more to it than that but that's the general idea. With that said, it's not surprising that this has been a contentious topic for many. Dr. Michelle Lee Barnewall wrote a book titled "Neither Complementarian nor Egalitarian: A Kingdom Corrective to the Evangelical Gender Debate" that helps us get back to the point of the Scriptures. Christian's have been known to believe some weird things like a donkey spoke in the Bible, a sea actually split down the middle to allow people to walk on dry ground all the way across, and that God can forgive sins through faith in Jesus Christ and His sacrifice on the cross. Those are all true, by the way. However, there are some Christians who believe in more dogmatic and cultural things than what the Bible says and some times those beliefs get out of control. The problem of evil has been a hotly debated and discussed topic between Christians and non-Christians forever. A lot of people refuse to be Christians because of it, and many Christians leave the faith because they can't find a satisfactory answer to this question. Today Derry and Ethan look at the book of Habakkuk to see what the Bible has to say about this topic. Habakkuk is the only prophetic book in the Bible that is not addressing a specific people group but is a conversation between God and Habakkuk as to why God has allowed Israel to go through a terrible time of political and religious corruption, abuse of the poor, violation of rights, and on top of all that - external military threats.
