This week on the HEAL blog 3 Ways To Stop A Fight. Melissa Lyon West personifies strength and resilience like no other. From a young age, she was entangled in a cult, dominated by her father's controlling influence. Up until she turned thirty, every aspect of Melissa's life was dictated by strict rules. There was no room for personal choice in this cloistered environment where men held all the power, and women were relegated to a subservient role. However, a series of events gradually chipped away at the foundation of her beliefs, leading Melissa to question the life she had been forced to lead. The turning point came when she boldly declared, "I'm not going to lie anymore." That single decision marked the beginning of her quest for truth, the catalyst for her healing journey. With unwavering determination, Melissa embarked on a path to freedom, breaking free from the shackles of the cult's control. Every step she took brought her closer to reclaiming her autonomy, as she refused to be bound by oppressive rules any longer. Now, our story finds Melissa at a pivotal moment in her life. Having endured a lifetime of conformity, she stands firm in her decision to sever ties with the cult once and for all.
