Episode 27, a massively underrated player in Iowa's secondary that had a huge impact this past season... Quinn Schulte. We had a great time chatting with Quinn and he was incredibly accommodating in allowing us to interview him. Quinn has been with the Hawkeyes since he joined as a preferred walk-on in 2019. However, Quinn is no stranger to the Hawkeye program, as he grew up close by in Cedar Rapids and played for his father at Cedar Rapids Xavier High School, having a partial stake in leading his high school team to a state championship. Drew burst onto the scene and set some records for freshman kickers at Iowa, en route to becoming an All-Big-Ten honoree. Episode 17, we sit down with former long-snapper and current podcast host Tyler Kluver. As a walk-on for the University of Iowa, Tyler played through multiple successful seasons at Iowa, including a historic Rose Bowl season in 2015. After graduation, Kluver started the Washed up Walk-ons Podcast alongside 2 of his former teammates at Iowa. Now with well over 300 episodes under their belts, the Washed up Walk-ons have built quite the following, and continue to give back large amounts to the children's hospital from much of their earnings. Our podcast is the family-friendly alternative to the WuW podcast built for kids, and we discuss how the 2 are definitely not in competition, but a companion piece for the kids of the Walk-on listeners. This is by far the longest episode we've ever had, and we probably could have kept going for easily another hour. Episode 16, the future of Tight End U, Luke Lachey. As a sophomore, Luke is already making a name for himself in the tight end room both on and off the field. As a native of Columbus, Ohio, Luke's father played for the Buckeyes and is still the gameday broadcaster for the Bucs. It was a huge snag for the Hawkeyes to land this recruit, and we couldn't be any more excited to chat with him. Matthew and I both believe Luke will follow in his father's footsteps by playing successfully in the NFL soon. Luke was completely willing to talk to us and was an awesome guest! Funny side story, my wife's Aunt was Luke's 6th grade history teacher in Ohio.
