#25- Ahmed Nimale: Kyd Labs

6/9/2023
Ahmed Nihmale is the co-founder of Kyd Labs, a blockchain-integrated ticketing platform. Before starting Kyd, Ahmed spent most of his career in the ticketing and live events industries working for companies like Live Nation, Ticketmaster, and Vivid Seats. With the founding of KYD Labs, which stands for "Keep Your Distribution," Ahmed aims to address the existing challenges and inefficiencies within the ticketing industry. The company has two primary goals: first, to empower artists, promoters, and venues by increasing their revenue and solving industry problems, and second, to provide fans with a transparent ticket-buying experience that fosters stronger relationships between artists and their supporters. We recorded this live in Brooklyn during NFT.NYC and unfortunately, I didn’t have my full mic set up, so the audio isn’t perfect, but we still had a great conversation about all of the issues with the ticketing industry and all of the ways that blockchain can solve those issues. I hope you learn something new from today’s episode. #24- Dadabots

5/26/2023
Dadabots is the AI Music project of CJ Carr and Zack Zukowski. Quoting their own words from their website, Dadabots is a cross between a band, a hackathon team, and an ephemeral research lab. We're musicians seduced by math. We do the science, we engineer the software, we make the music. All in one project. Don't need nobody else. Except we do, because we're standing on the shoulders of giants, and because the whole point is to collaborate with more artists. And in the future, if musicians lose their jobs, we're a scapegoat. J.K. Please don't burn us to death. We'll fight for the right side of history.. We swear..."I had an amazing conversation with CJ about how Dadabots came to be and how they use technology to create music. Zack also jumped in for part of it and gave some great perspective on the project and the future of music creation. CJ came ultra prepared with tons of videos and diagrams and music to share which he showed while sharing his screen, so I highly request watching this episode if you can. Links to do so are in the description. These guys are really at the forefront of technology when it comes to music creation and this episode was insanely fun to record. I'm sure you'll learn something new, and hopefully you'll be excited by the potential that AI and machine learning has for music's future. This podcast is sponsored by the NFT ticketing company Neon Ox. You can find them at https://neonox.io/ and you can DM this podcast on social media if you want us to help set up a demo of the platform. Brenna and Saiko are both independent musicians who are building in web3. Their company YouniDAO is the backbone for UniFest, a traveling music festival that’s centered around empowering local artists and engaging local music scenes. They are also developing a localized music streaming platform called Uni Streaming with the same goals. We talk about their backgrounds in music and how they got into web3, where the ideas for Uni Fest and Uni Streaming came from, what these projects could ideally look like, and more. YouniDAO is always looking for more contributors to help make Uni Fest a success, so don’t hesitate to reach out to them on Twitter or Instagram if you’re interested in getting involved!
