This past weekend saw the first-ever male president of the Camogie Association appointed, skorts remaining as part of the playing uniform until 2027 at least while new rules are on the way to the game of camogie - all talking points from this year's annual Congress. In one of his first media engagements, we've got a feature-length interview with the new president, Brian Molloy, to hear all about his plans for the sport. On the pitch, it's shaping up to be a busy weekend (albeit without any senior involvement from Kilkenny or Carlow) as the VERY Camogie Leagues come to a close with Tipperary and Galway providing the top billing in the Division 1A final in Croke Park on Sunday afternoon. While Kilkenny's seniors might have had a weekend off, there was a wealth of action to take in as the county's intermediates, minors and U16 teams were all in action this past weekend. But what a way to finish the season by celebrating Kilkenny's Dicksboro being crowned All-Ireland senior camogie club champions for the first time ever, in the process ending a 17-year wait for a senior title to come back to Kilkenny following the successes of St. Lachtains in the early noughties. On this week's Camán Caint camogie podcast we're looking ahead to the big game this Sunday, the AIB Camogie senior club All-Ireland final between Dicksboro and Sarsfields. To help with that, Martin, Áine and Paula are joined by Kilkenny native Clodagh Power who's plying her camogie trade with Oranmore Maree, sharing her experiences in coming up against Sarsfields on the Galway scene. We'll dive into all games coming up this weekend, with Clanmaurice finding some favour with at least one member of the podcast crew. That result also means Dicksboro head to the All-Ireland senior camogie club championship but before they get there we need to catch up with some of those involved so manager Donal Carroll and some of the senior panel join the podcast to reflect on their Leinster final win and what comes next.
