We'll start by talking about the context of the story. Elijah was a prophet who lived in Israel during the time of King Ahab. Ahab was a wicked king who led the people of Israel into idolatry. Elijah was sent by God to pronounce judgment on Ahab and the people of Israel. As part of his judgment, Elijah prayed that there would be no rain for several years. And God answered his prayer. The land became dry and barren, and the people were suffering. But God didn't abandon Elijah. He provided for Elijah in a miraculous way. He sent ravens to bring Elijah bread and meat every day. A Tale of Birthright, and Betrayal over a Bowl of Stew

7/12/2023
In this episode, we explore the story of Jacob and Esau, the twin sons of Isaac and Rebekah. Esau was the firstborn, but Jacob was the one who received the birthright. This led to conflict between the two brothers, and eventually to Esau selling his birthright to Jacob for a bowl of stew. When Isaac was old and blind, he gave Jacob a blessing that was meant for Esau. This further angered Esau, and he threatened to kill Jacob. Jacob was forced to flee for his life, and he spent the next 20 years in exile. This story teaches us about the importance of birthright, the dangers of betrayal, and the power of reconciliation. It is a story that is still relevant today, and it can help us to understand our own relationships with our siblings. As Christ believers, we have a birthright that is far greater than anything Jacob or Esau could have ever imagined. In Ephesians 1:3-7, we are told that we have been "blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ." This includes things like adoption into God's family, redemption, forgiveness, and the gift of the Holy Spirit. Our birthright as Christ believers is a precious gift, and we should never take it for granted. We should be grateful for all that God has done for us, and we should live our lives in a way that honors Him.
