How to consume information in the new age? (E·135)

8/19/2023
How to consume information in the new age? (E·135) We’re discussing a topic that touches upon the aspect of content consumption in the new age, and learning. Especially in today’s world, where there are multiple means through which we’re constantly consuming content, is having information equivalent to knowledge. Sure, etymologically speaking knowledge is derived from the word “know” and therefore the two words information and knowledge can be synonymous. However, semantically speaking they are worlds apart. Perhaps information is cheaply available whereas what we make of that information can determine one’s knowledge. This conversation is about understanding this aspect of consuming information in the new age. _ Our aim at THIRTEEN is to find meaning in the everyday mundane and help people find their purpose and inner balance. Understanding the Facets of Creation (E·132)

5/21/2023
Continuing from our previous conversation about creative block, in this conversation, we try to find the genesis of creation. We look at if we can find a means of creating. What role does Artificial Intelligence have to play in creation in the coming future? We also look at the three facets of creation that bring to realization of thought into manifestation. Probably from that purview, there is no threat from AI to our identity or our creation. Dealing with a creative block (E·131)

4/30/2023
We’ve been offline lately, and that’s because we’ve been swamped with work. Real apologies for being inconsistent for that. We’ve also been feeling a little creative block, and instead of trying to find a solution for this issue, we thought of recording our conversation to see where it takes us. We all are creative individuals. Yes, even the so called “non-creative” ones. We’re all creating something all the time. If not anything, at least the stories in our head. But an intentful creation requires a state of flow, and sometimes you feel stagnated – like what happened to us. We hope that this conversation allows us to A. find the creative side that resides within us, and B. find ways for mending through this creative block… Let us know your thoughts. _ Our aim at THIRTEEN is to find meaning in the everyday mundane and help people find their purpose and inner balance. The Power & Purpose of Meditation (E·128)

3/25/2023
When I was growing up, I thought that meditation was that yogis and sanyasis did. They all had to leave their home and renounce their material possessions and go in search for enlightenment. As I grew, I thought the purpose of it is for inner peace. We often get confused with meditation with these extremes. There could be various reasons that we choose to meditate. The other part is that meditation need not be about closing the eyes and becoming quiet or focusing on one’s breath. Meditative quality comes with immersion into whatever we’re doing. _ Our aim at THIRTEEN is to find meaning in the everyday mundane and help people find their purpose and inner balance. Beyond the Resistance to Change (E·127)

3/18/2023
Among the several definitions that we byhearted during our schooling was of Newton’s First Law of Motion. It states that every object will remain at rest or in uniform motion in a straight line unless compelled to change by an external force. Likewise, we all resist change unless it is direly needed. We cocoon into the comfort and conform to a set routine. Why change is necessary? What does change offer us? Is it a choice, or an inadvertent event? Making a Biographical Life (E·126)

3/12/2023
We all read biographies, autobiographies of various people. And the takeaways from these readings are the experiences, the memories, and the learnings they had in their life. Now, if these experiences, memories and learnings is what makes them, then if we’re able to put what is our perceived future in the hindsight and see the person we have become then we can clearly see the possibility of making who we are is within ourself. In this conversation, we’re trying to see how our experiences, memories, and our learnings shape who we become, and if that can be consciously done. _ Our aim at THIRTEEN is to find meaning in the everyday mundane and help people find their purpose and inner balance. How to Relax Your Mind? (E·125)

2/18/2023
In this episode we look into various means and methods through which we can calm the internal conversation. A word of caution though, this episode is not essentially a “how to” but more of a quest in finding these means of relaxation. Self Care - a choice! (E·124)

2/11/2023
Self-care is not a discipline, it is a choice. Often, we struggle in defining what is right for us. Well there isn’t one right answer. However, learning to exercise the appropriate choice can do wonder. In this conversation, we’re not discussing what is the right choice, for most of the time we already know it. We’re neither discussing how to exercise the right choice, simply because that too we already know. But we’re discussing about acknowledging the choices we’re making and simply being able to observe them. What power will that unleash? We try to find it for us, and we don’t know even if we succeed. Many Roads Lead to Rome (E·120)

1/12/2023
The minimum age to get your driving license is 18. But most of us have chosen our career trajectory when we turned 16! (sic) - Ankur Warikoo Many of us walk the path laid to us by the societal norm. We get into university by 18, find a job by 21 or 22 and work in that discipline until we grow old. While that was probably the need in the 60s and the 70s, is it still the norm?
