Millions of people, including the usually stoic Simon Cowell, were moved by Nightbirde’s story and original song “It’s OK” when she auditioned on America’s Got Talent in June of 2021, earning a golden buzzer. Sadly, the talented singer, songwriter, and poet, whose real name is Jane Marczewski, was forced to resign from the competition a few months later to focus on her health, after receiving devastating news regarding her cancer’s progression. With a last-second shot from the star shooter, the underdog team defeats its powerhouse opponent, becoming the smallest school ever to win the state basketball championship. Referred to as the Milan Miracle, in 1954 the Milan High School Indians defeated the Muncie Central Bearcats in front of an audience of 15,000 at Butler Fieldhouse.
