Longevity seems to be a hot topic. The 'blue zones' are five distinct areas in the world , where people live long with vitality and good quality of life. The Mediterranean diet is one of the most well researched diets to demonstrate a pattern of eating and lifestyle that offers many elements for health, including lower risk of cardiovascular disease, heart attack and stroke. There's also evidence to show it's protective nature for brain, mood and gut health. Enter Sardinia, Italy, an island off of the mainland of Italy (the boot on the map), a Mediterranean area, which is also in a Blue Zone.
