Season 3 - Episode 8 - Empathy and Emotional Regulation

4/15/2024
Today's episode is a sombre one. Over the weekend in Sydney, there was a tragic scene of senseless violence at Bondi Junction. It had me consider what was relevant to talk about today. When change is introduced in organisations, emotional responses can range from passive through to extreme's. More often than not, these extreme reactions are due to a myriad of reasons, some being a trauma response. The old saying goes that you never know what is going on in someone's world, and when events like those on the weekend took place, that was the first thing I thought of when recording this episode. Be sure to be empathetic when planning, introducing or managing change. Support your people in a constructive way. Today is a short episode but one which has one core message - check in on each other.
