Fanatic! I hope your week was stellar. I got some great listening in when I wasn’t proofreading. These three stand out.
Boris - Live Noise Alive (red, black glitter swirl Japanese online store 100 pressed)
Damaged Bug – Zuzax
Unissued Sixties Garage Acetates Vol. 05 Five - You Tore My Brain!
We’re playing a track from an interesting record tonight. The band is called the Glass Cage. This is from the band camp page.
“In the summer of 1968, five BC teenagers recorded an exciting six-song demo of West Coast garage psych. Cut to an acetate then lost to time for 50+ years. Until now.”
Apparently, the record took about 10 years to finally get a release after the acetate was found. It’s a worthwhile listen. https://supremeecho.bandcamp. com/album/the-glass-cage
Looking forward to playing the new Damaged Bug album Zuzax on the show later next month.
https://damagedbug.bandcamp. com/album/zuzax
New music by our good friend and sonic ally Kim Salmon.
https://kimsalmon.bandcamp. com/album/freudian-slippers
I just got a record by a band called Station Model Violence. I don’t know anything about them yet. I listened to some tracks and they sounded cool. We’ll put a track of theirs in the March 13 show. The record came out today. https://staticshockrecords. bandcamp.com/album/station- model-violence
Our good pal and sonic ally, Michael Mulholland, who resides and broadcasts out of beautiful Melbourne, Australia gave me the heads up that there is a new album by the great band EXEK called Prove The Mountains Move. Michael is a great source for excellent music. I do my best to always give him credit, but I must say, a lot of music that we listen to on our show is from his recommendations. Thanks, Michael! https://exek.bandcamp.com/ album/prove-the-mountains-move
Damn, albums are so expensive now. It’s an incredible buzz kill but that’s how it is.
Fanatic, as we edge ever closer to Fanatic spring 2026, I can say, with the access to upcoming records that I have access to, some of which I’m intricately involved with, that we have some incredible music to look forward to this year. I think you’re going to be beyond stoked, you find yourself in a state of temporary disbelief.
I just got an email from someone named Ian MacKaye. Decade after decade, he keeps writing me. One of these days, I’m going to figure out who this person is. Apparently he has a record label called Dischord. He said that he went and saw Kid Congo play last night and that El Kid, one of my favorite people in the history of humankind, was coming by to visit today. I am beside myself with jealousy and will have to find some way to cope. Reportedly, Kid and his incredible band are going to be doing dates in Europe with Liz Lamere opening. WOW! That’s a double bill I would like to see.
Engineer X, Engineer Am-Rock and I will be putting the finishing touches on next week’s show over the weekend. I’m listening to the tracks as I’m writing this. Really cool show we’ve got lined up.
If you take a look below, you will hopefully find tonight’s gathering of great jams to be to your liking. The Ryan Reidy tracks we’ve been playing from his album Fringe Body Parts are really rocking our second hour. https://ryanreidy.bandcamp. com/album/fringe-body-parts.
As far as I’m concerned, winter is on its last legs and spring will soon be upon us. Have a great weekend and STAY FANATIC!!!

RADIO BROADCAST #88102-20–26
Fanatic! Happy Friday. I hope you’ve been able to listen to great music since last week. I’ve been doing marathon proofreading and editing sessions that go from when I wake up until well into the night. This has kept me from the turntable, but this is work that must be done. This regimen will be in place for the next several days. You might remember, months ago, when I told you that I had mixed some songs with Ian MacKaye at Inner Ear Studios in Arlington, Virginia. Probably, due to my mediocre writing skills, I wasn’t clear enough in my reportage and some folks were left under the impression that Ian and I were creating new music. We were actually mixing tracks from an old demo tape from 1979 that I located months before. The reason I’m bringing this up is the tracks came out sounding really good and two days ago, our good pal, the very talented engineer Pete Lyman at Infrasonic Sound, cut the lacquer for the record these tracks will be released on. He even cut an acetate for me so I could listen to the tracks at home. I sat in front of the speakers in his editing room, listening back to the tracks, while sending Ian and Larry Hardy at In The Red Records short videos so they could listen. It was very exciting to hear these tracks sound so good. The cover art, liner, notes, and labels are all done. The lacquer has been cut. It’s going to be the four tracks pressed on both sides of a 12”. That was Larry’s idea, very cool. The parts went off to the pressing plant and hopefully, we will have test pressing and vinyl to follow. So, what band is this? I’ll let you know when we get the records back. I will say this: it’s really good and we can’t wait for you to hear it. Stay tuned. Our good pal and sonic ally, Hannah Lew of the band Cold Beat, has a solo record coming out on April 10. Looking forward to this one. We are playing a track from it tonight. https://hannahlew.bandcamp. com/album/hannah-lew-2 I’m really liking the Fringe Body Parts album by Ryan Reidy. You will find one of his tracks in the second hour. https://ryanreidy.bandcamp. com/album/fringe-body-parts Also, I was able to secure the Misfits tracks from the Manny Martinez Tapes and a really cool version of their excellent song Hybrid Moments will start hour two. Glenn Danzig was an amazing singer right out of the box. I encourage you to find these tracks. We will be playing them in the weeks going forward. The new Takaat 10” Is Noise, Vol. 3 is really good. We will listen to a track from it tonight. https://takaat.bandcamp.com/ album/takaat-is-noise-vol-3 Tonight’s offering by The Fall is from the band’s album The Unutterable, released in 2000. I wanted to remind you that this record just got the cool Cherry Red Records reissue treatment. Really worth checking out. https://thefallmusic.bandcamp. com/album/the-unutterable Fanatic, we really hope you enjoy tonight’s gathering of tracks and that you have a tremendous weekend. Thank you for listening and STAY FANATIC!!! –– Henry

Fanatic! Happy February. I hope the weather isn’t giving you too much hassle. Depending on where you are, you might be baking, listening to your teeth chattering or something far more hospitable. I’m in spring-like weather, surrounded by fallen trees, sheared branches, and melting snow.
Our good pal and sonic ally Hannah Lew, who you might know from the excellent band Cold Beat, has a solo record coming out in April. We’re going to play a track from it next week.
https://hannahlew.bandcamp. com/album/hannah-lew-2
In news that at this point might not necessarily surprise, John Dwyer has another record coming out. This time around, it’s his excellent outfit Damaged Bug. This is such a cool band. We have to wait until March 20 but of course it will be worth it. I’m listening to the pre-order track and it’s really good. On Bandcamp at least, the vinyl looks like it’s sold out but hopefully, that’s a temporary situation. Can’t wait to hear this one. https://damagedbug.bandcamp. com/album/zuzax
This band T.Y. seems good. I’m on the Under The Gun Records mailing list and got the heads up on the group last night. We’ll start tracks from the record next week. https://utgrecords.bandcamp. com/album/we-r-ty
Also, another band on Under The Gun I think is worth checking out is 2m8o. We’ll get a track from them into next week’s show. https://utgrecords.bandcamp. com
We have a gathering of tunes for tonight that we hope you will greatly enjoy. Without a great amount of effort, you can scroll down and see what we’ll be serving up. Have a great night of listening, a tremendous, music-filled weekend and STAY FANATIC!!!

01-30–26 Fanatic! I’m going to apologize in advance for the brevity of these notes. I am well into day number five of no electricity. Snow, fallen trees, downed powerlines, etc. I’m going to dash off these brief notes, then get into my car and try and find Internet access. I’m thinking of a strip mall parking lot down the road. I will send these notes off to those who know what to do with them and scurry back to my freezing abode before the slush turns back to ice and makes the roads treacherous. In big news, I went to the supermarket last night just to remember what heat felt like I was able to secure a can of coffee. I saved it for today to have something to look forward to. It doesn’t taste good, but I remember something David Lynch once said in an interview about even bad tasting coffee being good enough. He was of course, correct. Sleeping in below freezing temperatures is interesting. Fleece-lined sweatpants were a wise purchase. I’m going to do my best to get next week’s show off to Engineer X and Engineer Am-Rock. If I am unable, next week’s show will be a rerun. My great apologies. Hopefully, before it comes to that, electricity will be restored. Below you’ll see the tracks for tonight’s marvelous gathering of tunes. I’ve played these tracks at the gym a few times now and I think we definitely have a good show lined up for you. Fanatic! It looks like parts of the USA might be in for some rough weather over the weekend. Depending on where you live, you might find yourself in the supermarket, looking at empty shelves as people purchase with great concern for their very survival over what could be one or two days of inclement weather. In some cities, it’s an emergency. In others, it’s just winter. An hour ago, I saw men grimly pushing their shopping carts full of Gatorade, and frozen pizza, towards their trucks. Getting ready.
In other news, Alan Vega’s early albums have been reissued.

Fanatic! Finally, it can be told. Several weeks ago, our good pal and sonic ally, not to mention one of my heroes for decades, the one and only Gaye Advert wrote to tell me she had found an Adverts tape on her shelf but she didn’t know what was on it. She asked if I was interested in checking it out, to which, of course I replied in the Fanatic affirmative.
Days later, the tape arrived. I took it to Infrasonic Sound. The great Pete Lyman carefully baked and transferred the tracks. Luckily, the tape was in pristine condition and contained two classic Adverts songs: We Who Wait and New Boys. They were produced by Larry Wallis, he of Pink Fairies fame, at Pathway Studios in London on March 20, 1977. As you might know, both of these songs eventually found themselves on proper Adverts releases, but not these versions. As far as we know, they have never been released until now. Pete sent the transferred tracks to both myself and Ian MacKaye. I sent them to Larry Hardy at In The Red Records and Gaye. Everyone thought they sounded great. I came up with sleeve and label ideas and sent all the information to our excellent layout person, Jon Krop. He got to work. Pete mastered the tracks and days later, everything was sent to the pressing plant. Weeks after that, test pressings came back. Ian, Larry and I all thought the tracks sounded excellent. We put in the order and became we who wait. Hey now! We got happy news yesterday that the records have arrived and are ready for mail order.

We cannot explain how stoked we are to release another Adverts record. Please check it out if you can.
Fanatic, I’ve been on the treadmill with the tracks from tonight’s show for a few days now and I think it is a very cool gathering of tunes. Engineer X, Engineer Am-Rock and I have almost finished work on next week’s show and we think you’re going to like it.

Fanatic! Here we are, together again for the second time this year with what you will hopefully find to be a fantastic gathering of tunes.
I am momentarily sidelined as I’m waiting on a couple of replacement tubes for my right channel amplifier. Luckily, I have back up playback but I’m looking forward for the tubes to arrive. I want to finish listening to that great Velvet Underground box that I told you about a few weeks ago as well as check out some great 7” records that have recently arrived.
Looking forward to this record.

There are a few other records I’ve been sent that are coming out soon, but I can’t find any listing for them on Bandcamp, so I will wait for the respective labels to announce. As I’ve said to you a few times in the last several weeks, there are some really cool records to be looking forward to this year.
We very much hope you have a great time listening to tonight’s program. Thank you so much for tuning in and STAY FANATIC!!!

Fanatic! Here we are, right at the beginning of the new year. There are lots of good records coming out over the next several months and when the time is right, we will be checking them out.
Winter for me, has turned into a bit of a holding pattern. I stay active, but my thoughts are forward facing, with spring and summer in mind. For now, I endure.
I think we’ve put together an interesting show to start 2026. Always trying to stay slightly ahead of schedule, in case something comes up, we have almost completed the work for next week’s show. More to look forward to!
Have a great weekend and STAY FANATIC!!!

Fanatic! I think the holiday season means different things to different people. I didn’t see any humans today and the weather was unseasonably warm, so it was more of an overcast September atmosphere. Some of my neighbors light their houses up. It looks like a lot of work. There is a car I’ve seen twice in the last few days that was wrapped in Christmas lights. The car was white, and the lights were multicolor and at night it looked really cool. The first time I saw the car, It was ahead of me turning onto the highway and the second time I saw it, the occupant was getting out to go into the gym as I was getting into my car. I wish I could’ve gotten a photo.
I can’t possibly know if you have any days away from your usual tasks as we march towards the end of the year, but if you do, I hope you get some good listening in. I’ve been checking out the Velvet Underground reissue box set, a lot of Stooges, David Bowie and tracks for our upcoming shows. Engineer X and I are a little over halfway done with our first show for next year. I think it’s going to be a great one.
I believe I mentioned last week or the week before, there are some really great records coming out next year, a few of them. I’ve been lucky enough to receive in advance. Others, I’ll have to wait for, but they will arrive eventually. I think we’re going to have some great listening coming up.
Fanatic, we finish another year of music appreciation together. On behalf of myself, Engineer, X and Engineer Am-Rock, thank you so much for tuning in. We hope we’ve put together shows that have been interesting and worth your while. We are going to do our Fanatic best to maintain this level of sonic good times into next year.
Until then, enjoy the holiday and STAY FANATIC!!!
