He has run clinics throughout several states where he was able to develop PTs and PTA’s along with mentoring students. He has volunteered with the APTA at the state level in Mississippi and Texas and also helped the state of Mississippi pass House Bill 309 which is the licensure compact. Originally from NJ, Dr. Ben Weinstein went to the University of Delaware for Undergrad and graduated in 2014. He then moved to NY for PT school at New York Medical College and graduated in 2017. Ben took a job with an OPPT clinic he had done a clinical rotation with, but eventually moved to Nashville TN in 2018. He worked inpatient as Vanderbilt’s Spine PT but transitioned back to OPPT as a staff PT and then a Clinic Director for 1.5 years after the pandemic. During this time, Ben felt the pressure of increasing productivity demands and decreased emphasis on patient care. He decided to open up Enhance PT and Performance in March of 2022. Dr. Zach Baker, DPT, SCS serves as Chief Clinical Officer at Rehab 2 Perform (R2P) and is also the Program Director of the Sports Residency at R2P. As Chief Clinical Officer, he is responsible for overseeing and implementing initiatives for the company’s approach to clinical care, onboarding of new clinicians, and continued mentorship and educational offerings for all staff members. Within the Sports Residency, he plays an active role as an administrator, teacher/lecturer, and mentor. In addition to these roles, he still actively treats patients 20 hours a week. Zach has been with R2P since its beginning in December 2014, when Dr. Josh Funk, owner of Rehab 2 Perform, brought him in as the company’s first hire. In the last 8 years, Zach has had the unique opportunity to assist and facilitate the growth of the company from 2 to 50+ employees and from 1 to currently 8 locations (as of August 2022), playing a hand in expanding clinical operations and getting a behind the scenes look at the business side of PT and how it all integrates synergistically. His dissertation project is investigating the role of respiratory muscle performance in obese patients undergoing weight-loss surgery. In this episode, we talk about performing arts PT with Jake! Jake is an athletic trainer, physical therapist, and performance coach at PRO Motion in Winchester, VA. He received his Bachelor’s degree in kinesiology with a focus in sports medicine at the University of Virginia before entering the dual Master in Athletic Training/Doctorate of Physical Therapy program at Shenandoah University. While in graduate school Jacob completed numerous clinical rotations including work with collegiate and professional athletes at EXOS Gulf Breeze as well as spent the 2017 season working as an athletic training student intern with the Washington Redskins. Additionally, Jacob is a graduate of Shenandoah University’s Performing Arts Medicine program where he studied to specialize in rehabilitation for dancers and musicians. He is an advocate for strength training in the performing arts and has spoken internationally on the subject. In this episode, we talk with Dr. Jen Morgan about pelvic PT, collaboration, and the cash-based model. Dr. Jen Morgan is the owner of Centrality Physical Therapy and Wellness. She graduated from A.T. Still University with a doctoral degree in physical therapy and an intense passion for helping individuals optimize their pelvic health & live their best lives! From incontinence of any kind, pelvic pain, or pregnancy & postpartum clients, she loves treating it. She has experience treating patients using a blend of orthopedic, pelvic, visceral, and neural manipulation techniques. With this knowledge, Jen spends time out of the clinic as a TA for the Herman and Wallace Institute & is a TA candidate for the Barral Institute.
