Business Connect - Joseph of Arimathea

4/20/2023
Not many people have heard of Joseph of Arimathea. When we hear the name Joseph, we think of the Joseph who successfully interpreted Pharaohs dreams and eventually became the second most powerful person on the planet. Or we may think of Joseph, husband of the virgin Mary (of which much has been written). Joseph of Arimathea is only referred to across 16 verses in the bible. What is extraordinary is that the actions of Joseph of Arimathea was deemed so important that the account is referenced across all four Gospels – Mathew, Mark, Luke and John. Most business people I know aren’t on the stage, or near the lights. They rarely have a microphone, but they do have a heart to use their gifts for a purpose that makes a difference. I think this is exactly why Joseph of Arimathea can be seen as somewhat of a blueprint in scripture for people who feel called into business. Listen in to learn the 5 insightful questions every Christian business person should ask themselves that will ensure meaningful success. Business Connect - Building Personal and Lasting Change

3/8/2023
You don’t want to miss this chat with acclaimed expert and psychologist, Dr Robi Sonderegger, whose background in neuroscience has guided his life's work. In this episode, Pete and Dr Robi get real about how to actually create personal transformation that lasts, when statistically speaking, the change we desire is evading many of us. A study by the Harvard Business review estimated that 60-70% of every corporate change project fails. When it comes to personal change, the observations are even more disheartening. Only 5% of people, who enthusiastically set themselves up for a new year's resolution, will actually turn their vision into reality. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over, whilst expecting a different outcome. Dr Robi would like to suggest a different approach. In this episode of Business Connect you will learn: The #1 mistake people make when trying to create change The different stages of readiness for change The power of imagination How leading yourself is vital for creating lasting change Why having 4 people in on your mission is essential for success So, how do you create not just incremental change, but lasting, innovative and significant change? Business Connect - The Missing Ingredient

2/9/2023
In this episode, Peter shares the missing ingredient that’s needed in order to make changes we envision, or crave, but that often evade us. We all want to evolve through new experiences and desire a sense of breakthrough, both at work and in our personal lives but more often than not, limitations are holding us back. You know that feeling when you're spinning your wheels but not seeing your desires come to fruition? Peter empathises with these feelings of frustration and confusion, and highlights the path towards removing resistance to change. He prompts us to ignore that old adage ‘if at first you don’t succeed, try, try again’ and instead, practise what he calls the ‘Try, fail, adjust. Try, fail, adjust’ paradigm. In this episode, Peter remarks on: The Parable of Talents: How often it’s not about what we have, it’s about what we do with what we have, and how we can multiply it in order to serve others. [02:45] The Word that God gave Joshua and why it’s been a scripture that has provided direction and impact in business. [26:21] Understanding that ‘refinement’ often happens through the ‘fire’, in order to create a masterpiece. [25:30] The reality is, most of us want to see change in our lives and don’t want history repeating itself, especially when that history is unhealthy. However, we have a bias to action, without an investment in reflection. There can be no adjustments without reflections. This episode is about how choosing to reflect will become your superpower. Tune into this week’s episode to learn how to create the incremental change you seek in order to transform from where you’re at. Business Connect - How to Avoid Hell on Earth

12/14/2022
In this episode, Pete guides us through a rating system to truly evaluate and reflect on where you are right now to help determine what is your next right thing. Pete recalls the tail of Eternal Hell from Greek Mythology as an analogy of our daily working lives. If conducting an activity day after day, without progression, is the definition of “Hell on Earth” in the workplace, then momentum and progression is the solution. However, to achieve a life in the workforce free of eternal Hell, it does involve an investigation inward of your current leadership situation. Pete urges us to ask the tough questions that you may not want to, but in turn, will lead to a life free of friction, frustration and misery; How do I make it better? How can I remove the friction-points? How am I demotivating my team? Avoiding the rougher terrain and paving a path of smooth roads is certainly easier said than done, however, Pete imparts one of his favourite, yet cryptic, quotes unto listeners which can act as a guide to remembering why each day is important to building a career. Slow is smooth and smooth is fast. On this Podcast, Pete reminds us: What kind of leader you are and how to ensure you and your team can achieve an environment of progression each day. (2:44 - 6:10)How to rate 8 categories of your life to self-reflect and consciously tackle tasks: God, Energy, Health, Growth, Work, Finances, Friends & Family. (9:35)Deciding on areas of improvement and implementing them into practice, accepting that like Pete, your wheel may not be perfectly round. He discusses how to choose one category to work on. (26:35) So listeners… Grab a pen and paper and as instructed by Pete, get ready to workshop your way out of stagnation and into the momentum of a smooth, fulfilling and progression-oriented way of work and personal life. Tune into this week’s episode to learn how to use values to be the strong and faithful leader in your community that you need to be in times of change. Business Connect - How to Ride the Tsunami of Change

11/16/2022
In this episode, Pete uses the analogy of a tsunami to discuss how to deal with what can feel like unprecedented and unsettling waves of change. As we know, in business, some people get destroyed by ‘the tsunami of change’ and other people manage to ride it out. Pete reminds us that even though change is inevitable and relatively unpredictable, it always has been and there are patterns to follow. So how do we work out how to be a ‘surfer not a drowner’? Pete observes that when the wave has already hit, it means sensing opportunities, taking off at the right time, and knowing not to look back. Because once the set is in motion, in the rush, it can be easy to forget or lose sight of what we are trying to move towards. Nevertheless strategy, even if redefined, can and should still be applied to the mid-term and the longer term. Your surfboard will be your values, your true North, and is often the best strategy there is, to get you on the best course, to ride it through. On this podcast, Pete reminds us: What’s once seen as a disaster will be the force to propel you into the future 01:24Even companies in history who have appeared invincible can be decimated if they don’t move with change and accept the disruption 05:00Nostalgia has its place, but it can rob you of your future if you hold on too long to ‘what works’ or ‘the good old days’. Don’t let fear hold you back in business 06:04 Pete, through 100X, shares some exercises, and questions, to help you re-identify or redefine your values and bring them to the forefront in your business so that you can remain clear on how to help your customers. And remember, ‘the lowest level of leadership is position and the highest level of leadership is influence,’ So, if you’re listening out there alone that’s great but, if leadership is about influence you’re going to learn how to do that best if you do that in community and those around you can feel the love. Tune into this week’s episode to learn how to use values to be the strong and faithful leader in your community that you need to be in times of change. Anya McKee - Letting Faith Lead and Doubt Recede

11/3/2022
What happens when you’ve felt like you’ve heard from God, so you take the steps, but everything appears to go wrong? In this episode, Anya Mckee from Torn Curtain Publishing joins Pete in discussing what it looks like to make bold decisions in your personal life and your career with faith. Does your personal mission match your corporate mission? How does it tie in? We discuss how to decipher what is the right call when taking a big step and how sometimes, personal callings may even defy convention and what appears to be ‘best for business’. Torn Curtain Publishing is a Christian publishing company serving authors in Australia and globally, to help authors to bring together their ‘words for a better world’. Beginning with a manuscript appraisal, Anya’s team work collaboratively with writers through all the steps from manuscript to published book. Not exempt from having to make bold decisions, Anya shares how she has trusted when to move on certain ideas and alternatively, when to sit on them or stay on a singular path for a longer haul. From life-changing decisions like studying again as a mother, getting ‘the call’ to move to Turkey despite the business risk, to following the sense of divine timing, returning to Australia and realising only now did she have her clearest business plan and the right tools and skills to grow. Anya reflects with awe on how she managed moments of doubt and how humbling it is to really sense how the pieces of our life can come together. Hear how flipping the script in her prayer from focusing on herself to asking God what is exciting and encouraging to Him, has guided her legacy, step-by-step. Anya’s story is, in her words, ultimately ‘unplanned’ but very much led. The following questions are also covered: How much conviction can we expect 4:51Keeping the one story 06:35Can you always know what to expect 03:30How to deal with doubt 19:18Do you see life as a cruise ship or a battleship 22:25Can too much abundance actually look like chaos 23:40The importance of having core people that help you along the way 24:50How to handle when people tell you what you don’t want to hear 27:30Where am I living in history and tips for confusion 32:32 INSTAGRAM: Host: @PeterLow100X | @100X Legacy Guest @WebsitesThatSellAustralia www.100x.com

The Lowdown on Creating a Vision that Lasts

9/6/2022
What is your vision? Does it include others? Does it involve your team? I’ve heard many leaders talk about their vision, but too often that vision has not aligned with the whole team’s vision. People want to know what's in it for them. What is the one thing that you can get your whole team around that will get the breakthrough and the momentum forward that you need? Is your vision offering happiness? Is it offering stability or advancement? You need a plan and a vision that everyone around you can get behind. In this episode I discuss two comparison case studies, one that did this well and one that didn’t. Listen in to get the lowdown on creating a vision that lasts. The Low Down on Motivating Others

8/10/2022
How do you motivate your team? Perhaps a better question to ask is, “would you follow you?”. Motivating others is a key element to good leadership. It requires integrity, consistency and trust to facilitate an environment which is secure enough for your team to grow and excel in. Rather than asking how you can motivate your team, it’s actually more important to assess and take stock of the actions, processes and cultures that could be demotivating the people around you. We’re not aiming for a leader-follower model, but a leader-leader model; creating owners and thought-leaders within your company that will take your enterprise to the next level. Listen in to get practicals on taking the steps necessary to see transformation in the way that you lead, motivate and impact others.
