The new system with Trent in MF was bound to have some teething issues. The Reds need to add defensive steel to their firing front line. 5 games to go: can they make it 9 consecutive wins? Liverpool make it two consecutive, clean sheet PL wins with an impressive display against the Magpies. Klopp’s top players like Trent and Salah are starting to do the business again with sublime assists for Nunez and Gakpo as kamikaze goalkeeping left the Toon down to 10. Matchday 21 (2022-23) - Rejuvenated Reds sparkle in Merseyside Derby win

2/15/2023
Welcome to the Brothers Red podcast. Five brothers discuss the latest Liverpool FC games and news. Made for LFC fans. Follow us on twitter @BrothersRed5. We’re joined again by Mathew Fortnam to discuss a long overdue Premier League win for the Reds as two lightning attacks lead to goals for Salah and a first for Gakpo. The Blues were awful admittedly but this game was all about Klopp’s men and they whether could respond and they boy did they do that. The Pressing Monster Hendo was back and the Boy Wonder Bajcetic sparkled in a delightful romp which leaves us all hoping that the Reds have turned a corner as we approach Newcastle and Madrid. Up the Reds!

Matchday 20 (2022/23) - Lifeless Liverpool crumble at Wolves.

2/7/2023
Welcome to the Brothers Red podcast. Five brothers discuss the latest Liverpool FC games and news. Made for LFC fans. Follow us on twitter @BrothersRed5. We’re joined by friend of the show, Mathew Fortnam, to discuss another defeat. A listless and limp opening 12 minutes leaves Liverpool two goals down after meek defending from Matip, Gomez et al. The team mustered a response particularly in a spirited start to the second half but couldn’t score as Wolves sealed the win late on. There is a deep psychological malaise in the squad and the players don’t look capable of performing at anywhere near their potential. A response is required in the Derby next Monday. Up the Reds!

FA Cup 4th Round - Holders dumped out by late Brighton winner

1/30/2023
Welcome to the Brothers Red podcast. Five brothers discuss the latest Liverpool FC games and news. Made for LFC fans. Follow us on twitter @BrothersRed5. Join us this week to discuss the FA Cup 4th Round defeat to Brighton with guest, David Shams @ShamsWriter. After a promising first half performance, and having taken the lead with a flowing attack finished off by Elliott, Liverpool were unfortunate to concede a deflected equaliser before the end of the first 45, and never really recovered. Klopp’s men never really got going in the second half and lost what little momentum they had with substitutions on the hour and sloppy late defending. Trent looks fed-up, Fab’s lost the plot and Mo can’t hit a proverbial barn-door with a banjo at present the youngsters again stealing the show. We go again at Wolves on the weekend in the PL. Up the Reds!

Matchday 19 (2022/23) - Reds keep clean sheet in Chelsea bore draw

1/24/2023
Welcome to the Brothers Red podcast. Five brothers discuss the latest Liverpool FC games and news. Made for LFC fans. Follow us on twitter @BrothersRed5. The Reds hosted fellow mid-table strugglers with their new look, more combative midfield three of Thiago, Bajcetic and Keita and a mid-block, focussed on a clean sheet particularly in the absence of Nunez and with Salah off the boil. Chelsea were arguably the better team overall and Klopp was content with a progressive result. On the pod, we discuss new-boy Gakpo and Keita’a reintroduction. Liverpool have to snow focus on revenge against Brighton in the FA Cup and 3 points in the League before our top 4 hopes slip away. Up the Reds!

Welcome to the Brothers Red podcast. Five brothers discuss the latest Liverpool FC games and news. Made for LFC fans. Follow us on twitter @BrothersRed5. The Reds’ poor form of late reaches (we hope!) its nadir as they suffer a comprehensive defeat to an excellent Brighton. Klopp described this as the worst performance he’s ever seen from one of his teams. We discuss the match, what went wrong (everything) and how we can put things right. Up the Reds!

FA Cup 3rd Round (2022/23) - Wolves out-pack Reds’ midfield in 2-2 draw

1/10/2023
Welcome to the Brothers Red podcast. Five brothers discuss the latest Liverpool FC games and news. Made for LFC fans. Follow us on twitter @BrothersRed5. Klopp’s men start their defence of the FA Cup with a shaky performance at Anfield against Wolves, fortunate to escape with a replay at Molyneux. We conceded the opening goal, a theme this season, with a rare Ali blunder, find a way to get ahead with a sublime equaliser from Nunez ably assisted by Trent and then cede the second goal as Wolves cut through our midfield on the counter, denied a victory only by a missing camera for VAR. We continue our discussion about the fundamental issue with our midfield and the secondary issues affecting our performance. Well worth a listen. Brighton (A) awaits in the weekend hopefully the first of two trips to the Seagulls. Up the Reds!

Matchday 12 - 22/23 - Lacklustre Liverpool lose to Leeds

10/31/2022
Welcome to the Brothers Red podcast. Five brothers discuss the latest Liverpool FC games and news. Made for LFC fans. Follow us on twitter @BrothersRed5. After losing to Forest, we repeat the trick with a spirit-crushing home defeat to struggling Leeds. We discuss the game itself as the Reds concede a calamitous early goal and then watch passively as Leeds grab a late winner. We also talk about the vicious cycle of low confidence gripping a squad who were near world-beaters only several months ago, and also touch on the structural issues with an ageing, injury prone midfield in a Klopp side fuelled by a functional engine room in the middle of the park. Up the Reds!

Matchday 10/11 - Liverpool can’t see the woods for the trees at Forest

10/24/2022
Welcome to the Brothers Red podcast. Five brothers discuss the latest Liverpool game and news. Follow us on Twitter @brothersred5. After two consecutive PL victories, a limp and beleaguered Liverpool lose 1-0 to bottom of the table Notts Forest. An intense schedule of 3 games in 6 days and a growing injury list (including 11th hour casualties Thiago and Nunez) can’t excuse an another insipid showing. The title looks done for this season and the failure to reenergise the squad with top quality reinforcements in the midfield engine room. We can only hope to win the next one. Up the Reds!

10/19/2022
Welcome to the Brothers Red podcast. Five brothers discuss the latest Liverpool FC games and news. Made for LFC fans. Follow us on twitter @BrothersRed5. A brilliant performance from Liverpool against Man City yields 3 points, resurrecting our season. Klopp’s men adopted their tactics, ceding possession and holding a steady rear-guard before unleashing Mo Salah to torment the Citizens. Liverpool were terrific to a man in their tenacity, discipline and fight. Let’s hope this kick-starts our season. Up the Reds!

Matchday 8 - 22/23 - Gung-ho football (and VAR) costs Reds at Emirates

10/11/2022
Welcome to the Brothers Red podcast. Five brothers discuss the latest Liverpool FC games and news. Made for LFC fans. Follow us on twitter @BrothersRed5. The Reds were back in action at the Emirates against high-flying Arsenal. Liverpool continued this season’s theme of conceding first and early, going behind within 2 minutes after needlessly over-committing when a solid start was required. We then got back into the game with a brilliant Dias-assisted equaliser from Darwin Nunez (we should have had a penalty after a blatant handball) and dominated the play for the rest of the half until we mindlessly over-committed with seconds remaining and were punished on the counter-attack. The Reds, despite getting a second equaliser with a world-class Firmino finish, never got going in the second half and eventually conceded a dubious penalty after Jesus took a dive in the box. Let’s hope the Reds can deliver a clean sheet and 3 points next week against City. Up the Reds!
