Ep.57 - 'Its almost normal to think that you're abnormal' - with Psychiatrist Dr Fred Moss, The Un-doctor

10/11/2023
*Trigger warning - this podcast contains information and opinions on psychiatry, ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, self-diagnosis & medication* When I was asked if I'd like to speak with Dr Fred Moss, The Un-doctor, about the prevalence of self-diagnosis of ADHD, Anxiety and Depression I was intrigued. Truthfully, because I have been formally diagnosed and treated for Anxiety and Depression in the past (and I don't feel medication was the answer for me) and because it seems as though ADHD is affecting so many people. As Dr Moss explains, many are self-diagnosing and he has an interesting insight into why he believes this and what we can do if we feel we need professional help. As he states in the podcast, if you are happy with your diagnosis, your medication and your medical situation, this podcast isn't for you. If you want to hear more about Dr Moss and his 40 year journey in psychiatry, prepare for a fascinating insight into the world of un-doctoring, un-medicalising and un-diagnosing. Dr Moss has kindly offered a free discovery call for anyone who'd like to speak with him directly. You can book via his website https://welcometohumanity.net/

Ep#46 - Ian Ogilvy in Conversation - His Memoir 'Once A Saint', Family Fame, Acting Memories, Writing Books & 1960s RADA Makeup Tips!

5/31/2023
On the latest episode of The Homspa Beauty Meant To Be Podcast speaking to Ian Ogilvy was a joy! He is funny, witty and extremely interesting to talk to. I have known him as a respected actor since I can remember but it's through reading his memoir, Once A Saint, that I discovered just how fascinating a life he has lead. I also discovered there were many films I hadn't watched - I used to think that Ian began his career in the 1970s, so it's a credit to him that he doesn't look mature enough to have began a decade earlier! I thoroughly recommend his memoir as not only is he a great actor, he's a talented author too. I'm currently reading Withering Slights and I'll never look at cinematic reviews in quite the same way again! World of Books has a varied collection of Ian's books, many of which I purchased from here: https://www.wob.com/en-gb/books/author/ian-ogilvy

Ep#42 - Managing Menopause Sleep & Pain Issues with Marva, creator of Shhh...Menopause Wellness

3/8/2023
Hi everyone, I'm pleased to share a very special episode of the podcast with you today, sponsored by Shhh...Menopause Wellness. Marva Williams has an unbelievably stressful story to tell, but rather than allowing it to consume her, it became the making of her and inspired her to create Shhh...Menopause Wellness. Whether you have been affected by menopause yourself, are peri, post or know someone who is going through it presently, you'd be wise to listen to what Marva has learned. She has worked to create a range that tackles two of the big issues affecting many people; sleep and pain management (obviously you should always speak to your GP about your condition and there is no medical advice contained in this podcast). The added benefit of the range is that it can be useful if you're also going through issues that could be helped by the targeted ingredients contained. You can visit this link for more information on the range plus your free e-book and discount code: https://keap.page/nle447/v3tmpl-shhh-e-book-landing-page.html

I thought we could take our minds off this strange festive season with a fun trip back to the 1970s to chat about some of the most popular skincare products, makeup trends and hair styles that are still in vogue today. I'm a bit of a history geek when it comes to popular culture of the last 50-60 years and I retain far too much information that I love to share with anyone who matches my love of these decades! Do you have any favourite 70s styles or some memories that you'd love to share in the comments?
