Reading the Bible consistently and daily can be a daunting task for many believers. However, it doesn't have to be that way; it all depends on having the proper perspective. Some may have failed to read the Bible in 2023 and may be uncertain about setting this monumental ambition for 2024. My goal today is to inspire you to read the Scriptures daily—not merely for the sake of checking it off your to-do list, but to truly love it, delight in it, and cherish it in your heart. How do we live a Christian life that brings us deeper and closer to God? How do we please God? Before we can please God, we must be pleased in God first, just like David, just like the Apostles. When we are glad in God we will find the strength to live this life to the fullest.

Galatian 3:28 has been argued by progressives to mean that in Christ there is no gender identity. Progressive Christianity has taken this scripture to mean that Christ has invalidated all genders. There is no gender anymore. I personally don’t care much about exposing the misrepresentation of this different religion. In this case, however, I just want to interpret the text for what it is. If you want to learn more about Progressive Christianity I suggest you go and listen to Mike Winger. You can find him on the podcast and YouTube. But for my audiences, I wanted to provide small food for thought.

This was the prayer of Apostle Paul for the Church of Philippi. “And I pray this: that your love will keep on growing in knowledge and every kind of discernment, so that you may approve the things that are superior and may be pure and blameless in the day of Christ,”Philippians 1:9-10 CSB I believe we need still need this prayer today. As different teachings are creeping in to deceive the people of God, we must be armed with the knowledge and truth of the Gospel.

Since we are living in the fallen world so we tend to be distracted, but when we realize the worthlessness of this world and the infinite value of knowing Jesus, our joy becomes incomprehensible. Yes, there is a cost to following Jesus. Believers around the world are paying this price with their lives. However, there is a greater cost of not following Jesus and that is the eternal separation.

I gave this sermon at a local church in Mississippi. In this sermon, I talk of the three pleas Moses makes to God and how we can pray similarly. The recording was done with a phone so it is not as crisp but I hope the message will encourage you.

The first commandment says: Do not have other gods besides me. Exodus 20:3. Although we don't worship any idols, we may have worldly pursuits that hold the position of God. I hope this message is encouraging to you.

Moses is a historical hero of faith. There are many things we can learn from his life. However, these three things we should emulate to grow deeper in our relationship with God.

This week, we interview Tammy Allen who is walking through a Job-like experience after losing her dad and finding out she has cancer over the last two months. In the interview Tammy shares about growing up in California, discovering the need for a relationships with Jesus during college, her family’s journey that led them to Starkville, and how her faith in God has sustained her through these challenging times. Like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego who stated in Daniel 3:16-18, "O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God whom we serve is able to save us. He will rescue us from your power, Your Majesty. But even if he doesn’t, we want to make it clear to you, Your Majesty, that we will never serve your gods or worship the gold statue you have set up,” Tammy’s response is, "He is able to heal. But if He doesn't, I will still follow Him and worship Him." We hope you will be encouraged by Tammy’s testimony of faith in Jesus in spite of her struggles. Additionally, we would encourage you to pray for Tammy, Peter (husband), Amanda (daughter), and Cassie (daughter) as they continue to trust God through this difficult season of life.

Jesus educated his followers to think about anxiety and worry correctly. Jesus corrects our perspective on life by reminding us that our life is more than food and clothing. We are created for God and to do his purpose. It is about Christ and to pursue him should be our primary aim in life. Jesus invites us to look around seriously and how God knows and provides for his creation. He reminds us not to worry about our needs. He knows your needs. Jesus commands us to have the heavenly mindset and seek after the righteous things of God. He reminds us that as long as we run after him, everything will be provided for us so don’t worry.

What is a proper cure for anxiety? It is trusting God, enjoying God, and enjoying people.
