On our latest podcast we are sharing our journey of starting in the breeding industry to running and owing our an equine retreat center. We don't always see the journey to get the final outcome, when people find us now, there is sometimes a comparision of looking at what we have with our herd and our center and feeling like this is what we need in order to do this work. The truth is, it took us 10 years since we found the path of EAL to get to here, and sometimes we need to be reminded of the journey to get to where we envision ourselves wanting to be. We hope today's episode proves as an inspiration and encouragement that wherever you find yourselves on the journey in your EAL practice, it is enough.

On today's episode we are sharing a message and wisdom that felt inspired by our lead gelding chief. Why is it important for us to acknowledge and own our leadership alongside of our horse partners? What is powerful about us recognizing that our voice and presence is as equally as impactful as the horses? We answer these questions and more in this episode.

We were inspired to record our latest podcast from our lead gelding Chief to share some stories of horses of ours in how they found their way to us and to empower the perspective of horses being able to choose their journey and path in life and with us. Our horses can be consciously manifest their journey, choosing their connection to us and being part of what we choose to do in our partnership with them. In this podcast I share a few stories of the horses in our herd in their unique and individual paths to us and this journey we walk with them. We answer the question, do horses choos their path with us? And... How do we empower and witness this choosing and trust it. We are really excited to be joined again by Kim Hallin of Unbridled LLC. On this podcast we are deepening into the conversation of becoming an advocate for our horses and how that is part of our journey when we become horse owners. It can be overwhelming and at times paralyzing when we are new to horses and are not trusting of what we feel in this relationship. How do we navigate coming up against judgment and opinions around how we be in relationship with our horses in the traditional horse approach, when it is not something we resonate with? How do we find our courage to advocate for our horses and our partnership with them when we don't feel confident around our voice or what our horses need? On our latest podcast episode we are joined by Claire Martin of Hara Horses as she shares about her journey with her mare Inca, and how this powerful mare lead her onto her path of equine facilitated learning and back into the world of horses. Claire goes deep into her journey with horses, the path that she started on, how she ended up in equine guided facilitation and the wisdom her mare Inca has given her along the way.

Our latest podcast episode is a deepening into a question we have been asked a few times this past year which is, what happens when our clients have a fear of horses? We also speak to how to navigate when someone says they are afraid of horses so we can empower them in the exploration of coming to do a session with the herd. On our latest podcast episode we are sharing the journey about one of our mare's luna, and speaking about holding consent and honoring the path of our horse partners. Our belief is that we need to listen and hold space for the voice and consent of our horse partners in all ways, this is an example of how that can manifest. Looking at our horses and treating them as sovereign beings doesn't just mean we hold them that way in our work, but also in our relationship with them. This is Luna's journey with us around that path and process.

We have had a few people ask lately about how the teaching and training retreats work and what that process is so we decided to record an episode speaking to it. On our latest episode we speak about how we can include and be partnered with our horses in knowing what our purpose is, and finding the courage to walk that purpose out into the world. Inspired by Hillary's gelding, Aries, we share about our own journey of how Aries encouraged the leading of Horse Medicine Leadership, and what it is to remind ourselves that our purpose is not just about us but our horse partners as well.

In this episode we speak about the philosophy of leadership range and explore what it is and touch on how we are not one dimensional as people or leaders. Being able to develop our range as leaders is important in how we self-lead and also show up as leaders, guides and facilitators for others. We also reference The Five Roles of the Master Herder, a book written by Linda Kohanov, plus give examples of how leadership range manifests with our horses and also clients we may be facilitating with them.

How do we build intuitive relationships with our horses, both on a personal level and in our partnerships within the space of horse medicine? How do we honour each horse as an individual and learn how to connect within ourselves in order to more deeply understand their needs? And how do we honour and advocate for our horses when we work with others who may not yet be exploring the intuitive path? It’s an HMLA Podcast takeover! Join HMLA faculty members Angela Saieva and Toni Wiebe for a conversation around the importance of honouring our emotions and the messages the language of emotions brings with it. Toni and Angela share stories around the wisdom our horses gift us through the language of emotions and the impact those emotions have on ourselves, our herd and our human relationships. They also explore how horses support us in our reflection of the messages of our emotions and teach us to be comfortable with the expression of our emotions through a lens of curiosity without judgement.

On our latest podcast episode we are diving into the space of how do we hold safety we our horses in the space of this work. A topic of conversation in our mentorship circles on how do we manage young horses or horses that lack some ground manners in order to create safety for both horse and humans. We dive into giving some examples and how we can continue to empower our horses in their teaching role while also holding safety in the space with them.

On our latest podcast episode we are speaking about leaning into the wisdom of receiving what we need from our horses not always what we want. It is often the case that when we enter into the field we get witnessed in a way that is unexpected, illuminating the way that we as humans and facilitators often carry agenda around our experiences with horses. We take some time to give some examples of why we allow horses to lead the session so we don't project our agenda and how we can be receptive and open to the medicine we need and not always what we want.

There is a delicate balance between holding safety with our horses and allowing them to be horses in how they teach and show up. We wanted to deepen this topic on the podcast and give examples of how we allow our horses the permission to be horses and still hold safety for humans. Giving permission for our horses to be horses doesn't mean we compromise safety and we also need to learn how to read body language and know our individual horses so they can be able to teach in what is unique to them. A in depth navigation of offering some examples of how this shows up, how we empower and honor our horses in who they are in the full range of who they are and also hold the space of safety.

On our latest podcast episode we are sharing some examples of how do we speak about this work with horses? A question we are often asked is around how do we translate this purpose with horses into language that our clients and others will understand. We give examples of how to speak this language to non horse people and how to find the language and messaging to use that will connect and land with those that we are hoping to reach in this work. When we understand how to speak this language to those that we are trying to work with, we feel more confident and have greater success in filling our spaces with clients that we are wanting to fill our practice with.

On our latest podcast episode we are speaking about what we feel is one of the most essential facilitation and leadership skills to develop and that is reading the space. Horses are master space readers, as facilitators we learn and can be lead by how horses read space to develop our ability to do so. In this podcast we break down what does it mean to read the space, why it is an essential facilitation skill and how we can start developing that muscle to become a more masterful facilitator.
