The journey of trying to make a video game is an intense, arduous quest, often paralleling the perils of the games that inspired it. It requires an inquisitive mind, futuristic wisdom, a ton of loot, and a badass party, each bringing their own special abilities to help transform a dream into reality. Your spawn point might also be nowhere near any of the aforementioned resources, so how does one find their fellow visionary adventurers and the funding to forge the functionalities and fables to enrapture gamers around the world... and, you know, pay rent??? Enter Brooklyn-Based VoxPop, a distribution platform and middleware toolset that helps every role in indie game development find projects and strong collaborative fits while ensuring all involved receive an equitable payout from the endeavor. Through VoxPop’s core model, creators can pay collaborators (programmers, artists, community managers, etc.) with a percentage of their game's earnings. Whenever the game gets released, everyone will get paid in dividends after each sale. This allows devs to jumpstart their build even if they don’t have access to initial capital. Share amounts are agreed upon, and payments are fully automated. The VoxPop platform will calculate what’s owed and distribute proceeds to all shareholders. This model also incentivizes everyone invested to help push the game. VoxPop game devs have effectively partnered with PR/marketing opportunities and streamers to help push their art to a wider audience, and now VoxPop is finding success through their “VoxPop Fund” — receiving proposals and stepping into a producer role on selected projects, and securing a publishing partnership with GamerSky. The first of these was Salt & Pixel’s “Outer Terror” — a cult classic action roguelike harkening back to b-movie horror and grindhouse gore.

Hilliard was raised as a highlander in the foothills of a once-great mountain chain on the confluence of the three mighty rivers that forged his realm’s wealth and power for generations. His father, a peasant twerg, toiled away in industries of honest labor and instilled in him a work ethic that would shape his destiny. His mother, a local healer, cared for his elders and his warrior uncle, who helped to raise him during his formative years. His genius brother, whose wizardly prowess allowed him to master the art of the abacus and his own quill, trained with him for battles on fields of green and sheets of ice. Hilliard’s earliest education took place in his warrior uncle’s tower, where he learned his first words. HIs uncle helped him to learn the basics of life—and, most importantly, creative writing. Hilliard’s training and education readied him to lift a quill that would scribe the tale of the realm of Warminster, filled with brave knights, harrowing adventure and legendary struggles. He lives in the city of silver cups, hypocycloids and golden triangles with his wife, a ranger of the diamond. They built their castle not far into the countryside, guarded by his own two horsehounds, Thor and MacLeod, and resides there to this day.

Every once in a while, the DM throws an encounter at you with flair, with gravitas, with beautiful tie-ins to the story of the campaign. And sometimes the DM just finds something that hopefully will give the players a bit more experience points and hopefully prove to be a fun encounter. You get to decide which one resulted in this mess. Having captured Keritou Cliff-Jumper, one of the few mortals who escaped Athreos and never returned, the group sets up camp for the night and prepares for the last leg of their journey towards the titan. With suspicions running high on whether or not Keritou will keep his word to return to Athreos after the group aids him in rescuing his granddaughter, the group keeps careful watch on their new companion... which leaves them somewhat unprepared when they suddenly encounter a group of were-lions! Will Aslan be able to put these monsters to rest? Will Keritou betray the group? And could anything else go wrong as the group fights these things? Find out on this episode of Dice Sesh!
