Virtual Criminality

True Crime

Virtual Criminality combines two of host Ian Higton's greatest passions - video gaming and true crime - into one gruesome whole. Each episode of Virtual Criminality will focus on a different video game villain with their fictional stories presented as fact, in the style of a true crime series. That means, along with all the usual gory, serial killer stuff that you’d expect from a real-world true crime series, there’ll also be times when we get to explore not only the fantastical but the supernatural too. If you’re into true crime, video game theories and creepy pastas, you have come to the right place. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

The Unsolved Goose Crimes

1/30/2023
When a small rural community is left in isolation after a vehicle collision blocks the only road in or out of their village, all hell breaks loose as a violent psychopath is allowed to run rampant. For 8 hours this monster was free to terrorise the trapped villagers, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake as it indulged in a catalogue of crimes including property damage, vandalism, theft, intimidation and multiple counts of aggravated assault. But, the most shocking fact of all is that the police have never been able to bring the culprit to justice. In today’s episode, I’ll be taking you through the events of that terrible day, in detail, using exclusively obtained footage from the two police air support units that were deployed to track the horrible menace. And so, with all that said and done, welcome to Virtual Criminality and the story of the unsolved goose crimes. Virtual Criminality is also available in podcast form! The Arrival Of The Slender Man: Part Two - Proof Of A Monster

12/18/2022
PART TWO OF TWO - On the last episode of Virtual Criminality, we learned all about the historical hauntings of the small Canadian town of Oakside, Alberta and we also heard about a harrowing curse that has blighted the local Matheson family for generations. But, in order to fully convince you that these events actually took place, it’s finally time to talk about the solid, undeniable and irrefutable proof that shocked the world when it came to light in 2013. This is proof that’s easily accessible to those who know where to look for it and it’s thanks to the availability of this proof that the monster that once stalked the Mathesons has now been studied, verified and given a name. And so, with all that said and done, welcome to Virtual Criminality and PART TWO of the story of The Slender Man. Virtual Criminality is also available in video form! The Arrival Of The Slender Man: Part One - The Backstory

11/30/2022
PART ONE OF TWO - The case you’re about to hear is going to seem far-fetched and unbelievable at first, and I should know, I thought the same when I first started researching it. But, just as I did, you too will soon come to see that this investigation contains solid, undeniable and irrefutable proof of the existence of an ancient abomination that’s known simply as, The Slender Man. Some of you may have already heard the legends of The Slender Man; that he stalks his targets when they’re walking alone at night in the woods, before snatching them up, impaling them on trees and removing their organs. Others may have heard that he is more likely to watch people from afar, appearing as a black shape in the darkness, or a glimpse of movement seen out of the corner of someone’s eye. From these places he would trail his chosen victims for days, months, or sometimes even years, tormenting them from the shadows and striking when their guard was down. Then, when they were unable to cope with the anguish any longer, they would slowly descend into an inescapable, paranoid madness. One that would ultimately allow The Slender Man to control their minds and bend them to his will, forcing them to act based on his own, terrible wants and needs. And yes, I know that all this may sound far too absurd to be true, but I guarantee you that, by the end of this episode, you will believe in The Slender Man too, and you will understand the true extent of his evil. And so, with all that said and done, welcome to Virtual Criminality and the story of The Slender Man. Virtual Criminality is also available in video form! The Criminal Origins Of Leland Vanhorn aka Serial Killer X

10/31/2022
When a killer kills another killer, are they actually doing the world a favour or are they just continuing a cycle of evil that only justice can break? That’s the burning question at the heart of this week’s episode of Virtual Criminality, as I go back in time to 2005 to follow a grizzly trail of corpses through the run-down streets and buildings of Metro City. These aren’t just any old corpses though, as you’ll soon see, many of them belong to brutal serial killers who, after terrorising the city with their own unique brands of savagery, somehow ended up being killed by their own methods. But who is behind these vigilante style murders? Why are they doing them and how come the FBI can’t stop them? Well, that’s what we’re all here to find out so, with all that said and done, welcome to episode two of Virtual Criminality and the story of Leland Vanhorn, aka Serial Killer X. The Insanity Of Vaas Montenegro

9/28/2022
Take a deep dive into the dark and disturbing world of the fearsome leader of a group of modern-day pirates. This charismatic but highly psychotic individual and his rag-tag band of drug-addled followers have been linked to an untold number of crimes in and around the Indonesian archipelago known as the Rook Islands. These crimes include but are not limited too, armed robberies, sexual assaults, drug smuggling, hijackings, gun running, human trafficking and most recently; the kidnapping and attempted murder of a group of American tourists. But, that’s not even the craziest part. There’s also proof of our subjects involvement in the murder of a high profile celebrity, and, almost unbelievably, there are even hints that he was the mastermind behind the secret assassination of one of the world’s most feared dictators.
