D&B 57: What Would You Say You Do Here?

10/6/2023
The Dome and Bedlam Podcast: NONE SHALL KNOW THE HOUR EDITION. The Pod breaks (yet another) long hiatus to discuss the terms and conditions of rooting for the Seattle Mariners in the Jerry Dipoto Era, and whether we agree to them. As always you can subscribe, rate, and review us wherever you get your podcasts. We are still, after all this time and all these absences, overwhelmingly grateful for all of you who listen to us and yell at us for not recording. Without you this show would literally not exist, rather than merely practically so. (Music Credits: Charley Crockett, Sufjan Stevens)

D&B 56: The Kenji Johjima Years, With Ryan Nanni

2/22/2023
It’s that time again folks! The late February winter is giving way to…….more winter, there’s no sports on tv, and you’re far enough past the holidays with enough days to go til Spring to truly wonder what even the point is anymore. That feeling of gazing into the eternal, yawning void of pointless existence is PRECISELY the correct headspace for another episode of DOME AND BEDLAM: A Seattle Mariners-Adjacent Podcast. This episode continues the show’s current 2002 Willie Bloomquist Streak of having phenomenal guests, as we’re joined by The Shutdown Fullcast’s Ryan Nanni to discuss the late 2000’s, playoff expansion, what we choose to enjoy about our sports, and also new realms in interdimensional podcast technology. As always we’re grateful to Ryan, our guest, and to you, our listeners. Please like and subscribe, leave a nice review, etc. We enjoy doing this and hope you enjoy it too. D&B 54: The Jewel of Our Crown, with Ryan Divish

1/11/2023
Well well well, two podcasts within a month. The haters and losers said it could not be done but, much like those very same (very real) haters' (very real) predictions that the 2022 Georgia Bulldogs would go 7-5, they are in fact fully shambalized. This episode sees our continuing efforts to mine the barren husk of Seattle Mariners Offseason Discourse produce a two-part episode: Part one is a brisk 25 minutes in which Nathan, David, and Scott talk through the Mariners' offseason. What are they? Who do they intend to be? Where do we go from here? Why, in fact, are they? This and more. Part two (26:31) sees the Seattle Times' Ryan Divish join us. We asked him what the people demanded, which was primarily "How dare you?" and he answered. At length! Listen as Ryan gives some background on the team's mindset, the levers of power, how much Howard Lincoln's sweaters cost, Felix Hernandez's return, and a lot more. We are, for as long as we have him, very lucky to have Ryan doing what he does. And that's it! Rate and subscribe. We like podcasting, and hope you enjoy listening. D&B 53: Remembering Bob Wells with David Roth

12/14/2022
And were back, once again, unkillable . Not alive but certainly not dead Dome and Bedlam returns like the haunted , zombified Krampus of your nightmares with yet more auditory horrors. Amazingly the gang has yet another actual guest of merit and import join them as Defector Media’s David Roth joins us to discuss Hallmark, Jerry Dipoto, and where those two great forces intersect. As always we are grateful to you for listening. you can subscribe for our quarterly episodes on iTunes, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts. Please rate us five stars, as its the best we will ever do in this life. (Music Credits: White Ling, Tatum Sheets, Bad Bunny)

D&B 52.5: Mike Cameron. That’s it. That’s the Episode Title (Updated Audio)

8/11/2022
Despite my (Nathan's) best efforts the first pass through this episode had some, erm, tough audio sections. Our friend Josh went through and toned down the levels and got a lot of the most excruciating stuff under control. He is very cool. I woke up Monday morning with my left knee swollen and I yelled at my kids “THERE’S A PODCAST COMING THERE IS” and lo and behold here it is. Not only are Nathan, David, and Scott finally taking the time to comment on the goings on of the 2022 Seattle Mariners, they are provided the company of Mariner Royalty, as Mike Cameron joins the entire program to offer his insights (and make fun of Nathan for being a nerd). We truly cannot thank Mike enough for his time, and you for listening. We apologize for some, erm, audio difficulties in this episode. Mike’s voice had to come all the way from Georgia, and that’s just close enough to the Havana Syndrome Death Rays to garble things a bit. As always, please rate us five stars and subscribe wherever you get your podcasts, unless that’s a platform we haven’t figured out yet in which case please just rate us five stars and subscribe on a platform that’s not your preference. We love you.

D&B 51: And Freddie Prinze Jr. As Jay Buhner

4/13/2022
Now listeners you KNOW we are all rooting for the Seattle Mariners to harness the sun-like energy of the sport’s Number One Ranked Farm System, blast their way to the AL West title , and then supernova all over whichever pitiful wretches the National League sends forth to face then. …BUT, the Mariners are instead 2-3, with a three-game losing streak in tow. It’s only five games and there is LITERALLY NOTHING TO BE LEARNED, but the content must flow. And, once more, we pod. As always please rate and review 5-stars, subscribe wherever you get your podcasts, tip your server generously, and get your car in for factory dealer scheduled maintenance to make sure that warranty doesn’t expire. D&B 50: Hell is fake and Winker is God (with Jason Kirk)

3/16/2022
Hello my lovelies, and welcome to our 50th episode! It may have taken us 5+ years to get there but by God we did it, and we sure appreciate you coming along for the journey. We’ve got a very special episode today as Jason Kirk, co-host of the Shutdown Fullcast and Vacation Bible School podcasts joins us to talk about Mariners fandom, Christian hardcore, and how the Falcons and Mariners are the same team. Huge thanks to Jason for taking the time. The show also includes a roundtable discussion on the big Jesse Winker/Eugenio Suarez trade, the current state of the org, and what could be next for them. As always, feel free to rate and/or subscribe wherever you get your podcasts, and leave us a (hopefully) favorable review. We sure do appreciate y'all! 0:00-41:00 Team discussion and roundtable 42:00-1:13:00 Jason Kirk 1:14:00-1:32:00 Twitter Q&A (Music credits: Reliant K, Five Iron Frenzy, Project 86, Baroness)

D&B 49: The Gang Builds a Contender

10/13/2021
The 2021 Mariners were a beautiful, stupid fever dream. After a 90 win that exceeded everyone's (and that very much includes the organization itself) expectations Nathan, David, and Scott have a talk breaking down the season that was, and what the offseason and future look like. As always, thanks for your questions and feedback. Please rate us 5 stars so that we can continue to monetize this bad boy to the hilt. (Music credits: Gami Gang, Baroness, Drake)

D&B 48: One From the Heart

7/27/2021
It's been six months but friends, the Seattle Mariners will not lose and that required us to appear. Come for a very long discussion on what it's like to be a post-post-post burned out blogger enjoying your very dumb baseball team's success. Stay for BBQ chat and your opportunity to purchase a reasonably priced, custom off-set smoker. What the Mariners are doing this season is preposterous, only slightly less so than the fact that our community of listeners still somehow exists. We love you and appreciate you more than we can say. Goms. (Music Credits: Tyler the Creator, Green Lung, Teenage Wrist)

D&B 47: Dome & Bedlam Rotary Club

2/24/2021
We keep thinking that we're going to stop. There cannot possibly be anything else the Mariners could do to drag our aged behinds into the seat to yak into a mic for, right? Well, no. Kevin Mather went up like a firework stand in a bone-dry pine forest, the Mariners are (once again) the object of the baseball world's ire and, well, we needed to talk about that. Stick around for a discussion on what fandom means, if we can still really see ourselves as fans in the traditional sense, what the team does from here, some rudimentary Q&A, and a whole lot more. This community and your listenership are the only thing that keep us going through all this, so thank you. Feel free to rate us and subscribe wherever you get your podcasts. We are grateful for you. D&B 46: Le May Who?

10/2/2020
The Wheel turns, and another podcast arrives. Nathan, Scott, and David break down the end of the 2020 Mariners season, their 19th consecutive one without a postseason appearance. They also get all hopped up on Jerry Dipoto and Co. saying 2021 is a "playoffs or bust" year, and take a look at what may be necessary to make that a reality (SPOILER: More than relievers). The second half of the program is devoted to your thoughtful, probing, insightful, and lovely Twitter questions, including lost food items, switching leagues, and taking care of your mental health in the times of COVID. As always please rate us 5-stars, and feel free to subscribe on iTunes, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts. Thanks for listening folks! D&B 45: We Believe In A Thing Called……France?

9/3/2020
HACHI and/or MACHI the boys are once again, against the advice of medical professionals, financial advisors, and our mothers back in town to record yet another episode on or around the Seattle Mariners baseball squadron. The first half of our program today sees us in the unfortunate situation of having to say nice things about the Mariners, as ol' Gerard Of Poto went and turned Austin Nola, an injured reliever, and semi-sentient goatee Dan Altavilla into a Top 100 prospect and three other intriguing players! It's possibly Jerry's best move as Mariners GM and so we suck it up, and give it up for the sly devil. Second half is looking forward, and imagining who and/or what the 2023 Seattle Mariners will need to do in order to build a true contender. Thanks as always for listening. Feel free to rate and review us 5-stars on whatever podcast platform you use! (Music Credits: The Devil And The Almighty Blues, Willie Nelson, Ways Away)

D&B 44: Covid, Crawford, & Crabby Old Men

8/14/2020
It's gonna be a hot, hot weekend suckers so sweat it out with your favorite three baseball boys! David, Scott, and Nathan sit down to talk about the first 1/3 of the 2020 season, and the bizarre circumstances surrounding it. The gang also grabs some dig equipment and goes on a perilous quest to find Evan White's wRC+ far, far, underground. We also do a lot of Saying Nice Things About the Mariners, because growth and change are just another constant in this crazy thing we call life. Your Twitter Q&A runs the streets in this episode, and we are so thankful to all of you for continuing to listen. Please rate, review, and subscribe on iTunes, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts. Stay cool babies. (Music credits: Pusha T, Drake)

D&B 43: Fields of Goldsmith

7/21/2020
The 2020 Mariners "season" is poised to launch in Houston. This will be unlike any baseball season any of us has experienced, and in uncertain times we all know there is one thing that can unite us, and it is Taco Bell. In that spirit of unity the podcast welcomes back our oldest and best-coiffed guest, Mariners play-by-play announcer Aaron Goldsmith. Aaron, Scott, David, and Nathan spend the first half of the show talking baseball in 2020, Felix's departure, the State of the Franchise, Kyle Lewis, Jarred Kelenic and the Hall of Fame, and a whole lot more. The second half of the show is your Twitter Q&A, from ringing the Bell, trading Aaron for a Broadcaster To Be Named Later, Opening Day beanballs, and whatever other nonsense you gutter-dwelling, terminally-online fiends came up with. As always subscribe, give us five stars, and thanks for listening. (Music credits: We Hunt Buffalo, Phoebe Bridgers, Third Eye Blind)

D&B 42: The Valley of the Shadow of Death

7/6/2020
In honor of the impending season and its likely impending cancellation, Scott, Nathan, and David are back to talk about what it all means for YOU, erstwhile Seattle Mariners-aware podcast consumer. We chat about the pros and cons of a 60-game season, the sadness of MiLB’s cancellation, cognitive dissonance, and why on Earth we’ve decided to start an actual Seattle Mariners blog in the end times. The episode closes with some Twitter Q&A and a look forward. Don’t forget to subscribe and rate us five stars (please). D&B 41: A Show About Nothing

3/13/2020
Welcome Back! After an on-brand absence David, Scott, & Nathan return for 2020 to preview the season for the Mar………to breakdown March Mad……..to bandwagon an NBA……… Well, y’know y’all. It’s a scary world right now. We recorded this to give ourselves a break from it, and we hope it does that for a few of you. We love you all. Remember to love each other. It’s how we get through this. (Music credits: Hot Mulligan, Sturgill Simpson)

D&B 40: Talking Mariners for All to Hear

12/7/2019
HEY! Sorry we were actually Too Drunk last episode to do the rock solid analysis you frankly deserve from our show. We capped it early for this one and sat down for a nice fireside chat about trading Omar Narvaez, the 2020 Mariners, and beyond. We hope you enjoy it, and that you have a wonderful holiday season with your loved ones! (Music Credits: The Weeknd, Sufjan Stevens, Disturbed)

D&B 39: The Pivot

11/11/2019
The pod has woken up and found itself thirsty. Also we've found ourselves exhausted by the prospect of attempting to care more about another Mariners' offseason than the team itself so WE'RE TALKING FOOTBALL. David, Scott, and Nathan sit down over dinner at David's swanky new bachelor pad to talk Josh Gordon, Russell Wilson, and how you all don't appreciate a good thing when you have you incredibly spoiled babies. D&B 38: Live Charity Episode Pt. 2

7/16/2019
Part 2 of the live show is here! First segment features Maura Dooley and Stacy Rost of 710 ESPN Seattle, for a wide ranging discussion on sports media, rooting for actual good sports teams, and Jake Heaps slander. Our second and closing segment stars the Queen herself, Shannon Drayer. Shannon talks the first half, the upcoming second half, lets us chug beers midway through the talk, and then speaks to the challenges of covering and promoting baseball personalities in the analytical age. Again a huge thank you to all our guests, Josh our producer, Matt and the Masonry and mostly YOU for helping us raise FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS for Seattle Children’s Hospital. We are so grateful for you, you incredible idiots.
