Though it’s often mentioned in exasperated tones while being blamed for tech snafus and miscommunications, Mercury is so much more than its retrograde phase. Much like the Moon (and every planet) Mercury has a special cycle with the Sun, which creates different phases, and different flavors of Mercury as it moves through the sky. October looks radically different than September. In general there’s just more happening, with 26 major aspects or planetary motions, compared with September's 16. Mercury and Venus will finally change signs, after both having extended transits due to retrogrades. Mars and the Sun are also on the move. We'll be navigating Eclipses and Eclipse season. If you weren't enjoying the slower, same same pace of September, October brings plenty of shifts and changes. Or if the mutability of Virgo season was the kind of busy you're not a fan of, Libra season may provide better balance and a sense of momentum. I think this is usually said about March, and in the reverse, but September is really doing a whole, in like a lamb out like a lion thing. Nothing really jumped off the calendar quite like the events of the 29th and 30th. We've got a near-Eclipse Full Moon in Aries, two Uranus activations, and Mercury clearing the shadow of its retrograde all within 2 days. We've had other clusters of activity in September, but this is by far the most active, the most flashy. It's also potentially a little destabilizing, but nonetheless very exciting in how it might get things moving and shaking. This week, we’re taking a look at the Sun’s movements through the Zodiac. It’s a busy few days for the daytime luminary, as it makes its way through the final degrees of Virgo, meeting up with Neptune and Pluto along the way, and then heading into the sign of Libra. It’s not the most challenging week for the Sun, but it’s not the easiest breeziest one either. We’ll explore the differences between a Neptunian influence and a Plutonian one, and how that might manifest here on Earth. Plus, we’ll take a brief look at how Neptune and Pluto are interacting with each other currently and in the years to come. After a slow but steady start to September, a handful of celestial events coalesce to mark the beginning of a shift in energy. September 14th and 15th are the beginning of this new beginning.
