The climate crisis is not just having an impact on the planet's health, it's also impacting our mental health. A recent poll by the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) found that 60% reported that climate change had negatively affected their mental health a figure that rose to 73% among 16-24 year olds. Climate anxiety is feeding into a mental health picture that has worsened since the pandemic.
