If leadership is all about enabling and developing the team to achieve outstanding performance - wouldn't every great leader then be a great coach as well? This is the fundamental question for Matt and Daniel on this episode. Picking up the conversation from the last episode on grit, they start with the need for coaching. Cause the piece that differentiates us from humanity 30, 50 or 100 years ago, is not our human capability that evolved, but our progress in all scientific and practical fields coupled with improved education, teaching and coaching. So, for our personal growth a coach is essential to accelerate, to have another pair of eyes and ears and the feedback that we need to improve. The starting point for this episode's discussion was triggered through TED talks and ultimately a book with the concept of grit. For the author Angela Duckworth this is the special ingredient in people that indicates success and can be basically summarized in passion and perseverance. Matt & Daniel discuss their thoughts on the topic, they share about their own "grittiness" and elaborate on how to grow grit. Here it is - our Christmas special. What's not so special are the speakers on this episodes, because Matt and Daniel keep it between themselves for this episode. After 2 episodes just talking to each other, finally a guest came for a visit. After a long break and one episode Matt and Daniel are bouncing back with another episode, breaking already a promise. Because of flight cancellations and busy end of year season, the two are on their own again, still looking forward to a guest on the podcast. But still they had a good time talking about resilience in today's time, tools and strategies to strengthen resilience and a lot more.

This time HOW2 or rather HOW1 got on tour to visit BekaertDeslee North America. Matt had the chance to talk to Rafael Rodriguez, General Manager of the North American Business.
