Well, in today's episode, I sit down with Sam Porter – a 22-year-old private pilot from Vancouver, Canada, who has spent the last 8 months doing exactly that. Her family (@fly5inthesky⁠) has set a massive goal of flying around the world in their single-engine GA8 AirVan, travelling to over 50 countries in 14 months. In this episode, we dive into: A day in the life of travelling in a single-engine plane How to pack for a worldwide expedition (with only 9kg per person!) Sam shares some of her best and worst experiences from travelling to over 20 countries so far How to navigate medical emergencies as a full-time traveller ...and much more! After a short stint of trying corporate life, he decided to go all in with pursuing passion his passion for life, travel and content creation. Forgoing a ‘real’ job, he flew to asia and then returned to the UK to travel and live in his van, all while experimenting with re-selling, content creation, odd jobs and his most recent experiment with Only Fans. In this episode, we take a deep dive into the stigma of not getting a ‘real’ job, the true cost of pursuing your passions and of course, diving into his most recent experiment with creating on Only Fans and the metaphor for letting go of stigma to pursue our passions and joy, regardless of what people may think of us. Her travels took her all the way to Australia, where she began really struggling with her health. After many doctor appointments and advocating for herself, she was diagnosed with endometriosis. But she didn’t let that stop her. Instead, she learnt how to navigate surgeries, medications and appointments, all while living her best life in a van travelling around Europe - and now building a tiny home in the Swedish woods.
