It's the end of 2021, and instead of reading a bunch of people's favourite albums of the year, why not listen to what some past guests of BSG have to say? We got Laura Saba, Drew Fairservice, Arun Srinivasan, Sie Morley, Mike Pfeil, Maddie Campbell, and Rahef Issa, to talk about their album of the year.

Neil or "Floob" (@itlooksreal, Scorchstack) joins the show to talk about Gob's 1998 sophomore album "How Far Shallow Takes You" and how influential it was in his early years. Other than that, it's about the Calgary Flames and covering bad hockey teams; as well as the Canadian music landscape and some wrestling.

Ailish (@ailishforfar) joins the show to reminisce about some skater girl days and Avril Lavigne's 2002 debut "Let Go". Aside from the album, they talk about girl-fronted bands, developing your music taste during car rides to hockey practice, and being a pro hockey player deciding to go into sports media.

Mike (Scorchstack, @mikeFAIL) joins the show for the SECOND time and is the first return guest in BSG history. For that, he brought Thomas Alexisonfire's 2004 sophomore album, "Watch Out!". Other than the album and the artist's impact on the Canadian music scene, they discuss getting back into childhood loves, The Armed's "Ultrapop", and bands evolving into more of themselves.

Maddie (Broad Street Hockey, @madelinecampbll) joins the show to talk about her youthful experience with Jack's Mannequin's 2005 debut full-length record "Everything in Transit". Other than that it's about attending Warped Tour, the Philadelphia Flyers beat, and discovering music in quarantine.

John (a lot of podcasts, @cullenthecomic) comes on the show to talk about his personal pivotal album, Green Day's 1994 classic "Dookie". Other than the album and the artist, they discuss childhood sports and music, finding really specific characteristics you like in a band, as well as some Vancouver and Toronto sports sprinkled in there.

Adam (Southpaw Sports, @crappiestoats) joins the show to talk about the comedic duo Tenacious D's self-titled debut(?) album. Aside from the immaculate piece of work, they discuss performatively watching sports, participating in sports and music communities, and some albums that perfectly shaped middle school.

Dom (The Athletic, @domluszczyszyn) joins the show to talk about Kanye West's 2013 classic "Yeezus" and how it fits in with the rest of his albums. Aside from that, Thomas and Dom discuss the act of describing analytics in hockey, discovering music through GTA IV, and how annoying it is that bad people are good at things.

Ramina (Scorchstack, @ramzreboot) joins Thomas to talk about The Jonas Brothers and their album "A Little Bit Longer" coming out at the peak of their popularity in 2008. Other than the album, they discuss the Kevin Jonas reality show, listening to atmospheric soundtracks on YouTube, and the Calgary Flames.

Andrew (Wrestling Brain, Sportsfeld, @The_Zubes) joins Thomas to talk about Taking Back Sunday and his undying connection to their debut album, "Tell All Your Friends". Other than that, it's about wrestling's connection to sports and music, creating entertainment during the pandemic, and downloading songs off Limewire one at a time.

Doug (Bearings, @HiImInABand) joins Thomas to talk about the peaks and valleys of being a Leafs fan for your entire life. They also discuss Bearings getting back on tour this fall, playing beer league during the 4-1 collapse against the Bruins, and re-discovering sports after years of intense focus on music. Juliana (social for the Denver Nuggets, @juliananikac) joins Thomas to talk about Rina Sawayama's debut full length album "Sawayama" and her amazing way to blend Y2K pop with nu metal through various themes. Other than the album, they talk about what it's like producing social media content for a very charismatic NBA team, developing music tastes, and artists being literal in their interpretation being alright.

Gráinne (2 Additional Boleyn Girls, @wholegrainne) joins Thomas to talk about Pulp's smash hit 1995 masterpiece "Different Class". Aside from the album and the britpop royalty, they discuss soccer shirts, Euro 2020, and the British acceptance for alternative bands compared to North America.

Tony (Dobber Prospects, @theTonyFerrari) joins Thomas to talk about Kota the Friend's 2020 release "EVERYTHING". Beyond the album that gives you a positive outlook, they talk about Tony discovering Buddhism, the NHL Draft, and experiencing life through albums.

Tony (10K Rinks, @OhHiTony) drops by the show to talk about The Lillingtons' 1999 album "Death by Television" with Thomas. Other than that, they discuss podcasts that don't teach you anything, the Minnesota Wild's season and upcoming offseason, as well as just enjoying something without having to take a deeper meaning from it.
