Born and raised in Illinois, Hannach Ackley was completely homeschooled with her two younger twin brothers. With a high school diploma signed by her parents, Hannah moved to upstate New York to pursue her undergraduate degree. After meeting her husband, they moved back to Illinois. Despite never thinking she would homeschool her children, Hannah's research on vaccines led her in a direction in which she questioned larger institutions, such as the public school system.
