From working with top junior tennis players including world no 55 Jack Draper, heading up performance psychology at Derby County football club, to now working for the Australian Institue of sport, where he works with a number of Olympic medal hopefuls - no stone was left unturned in this episode. Chris shares a number of tactics you can use to go away and become a much stronger player mentally on the tennis court, as well as explaining the nuances between different sporting worlds and what it was like working directly with England legend, Wayne Rooney. There’s also a cracker of a story about how the two met and the tale of how Tom nearly bought Chris’ yellow Nissan Micra! This is a must listen for all players and parents out there who are interested in levelling up their tennis game. Today Tom is joined by former European Junior number 1, Ema Burgic Bucko Ema has one of the most fascinating Tennis stories we’ve ever had the pleasure of listening to. From conquering the European Tennis stage at the age of 16, to when she began struggling with injuries and the regret she has of playing it safe by going to college in America. Ema is refreshingly honest and holds nothing back as she tells the story of how a huge build of stress and pressure, led to her suffering from depression. Now Ema runs a successful business out in Florida and is inspiring more and more players to pick up a tennis racket. Liv humbly tells the story of how she went to Uni with no intention of becoming a professional tennis player… Last week she reached her maiden WTA Doubles final event. She speaks honestly about how there was more to life than tennis up until going to University and even recalls a time she went to watch her beloved Norwich City rather than play at an ITF Juniors event. Liv has marched up the rankings in recent months and it’s absolutely no surprise to hear why, when you listen to her speak about her routine and the knowledge she soaked up whilst spending time with Andy Murray.
