4/11/2022
Growing up in a musical and artistic household, Angela picked up her first guitar at the age of 9 and quickly immersed herself in many styles of music. At 13 Angela started studying under renowned Blues guitarist Little Jimmy Scott and started to hone her style as a musician. In 2013, Angela founded the band Roses & Cigarettes with LA singer-songwriter Jenny Pagliaro. Roses & Cigarettes released a few albums - A self-titled debut in 2015, the “Acoustic Sessions” EP in 2018, followed by Echoes and Silence, in 2019. 32: Astronaut Abby - The Mars Generation - Setting and achieving goals that are out of this world.

3/28/2022
Buckle up, cuz we're going to space! From the age of 4, Abigail Harrison knew she wanted to go to space. So much so that, at the age eleven, she sat down and wrote out a plan, not just for how to become an astronaut, but how to be the first astronaut to set foot on Mars. At the age of 13, Abby began to put her plan in action when she started to speak publicly about her dreams of space exploration. By the 8th grade, she had created an award-winning State History Day Project titled Debate and Diplomacy: The History of the ISS. The project spanned both history and science and allowed her the opportunity to conduct interviews with NASA astronauts and industry space experts. It was during this project that Abby created an online presence and became known as Astronaut Abby. Immediately she was embraced as a leader of her generation, the Mars generation. She found the power of social media allowed her to connect with people around the world who were both space professionals and enthusiasts. At the age of 18, Abby founded The Mars Generation, a nonprofit organization supported by an advisory board of astronauts, engineers, scientists and hundreds of thousands of online supporters. The nonprofit has reached over 25 million people in its first two years of operation with its work to educate and excite kids and adults about space exploration and STEM education. Abby graduated from college in 2019 with degrees in Biology and Russian, both setting her up for a career as an astronaut. Today Abby is a research scientist at Harvard Medical School and recently finished authoring her first book titled “Dream Big! How To Reach For Your Stars” where she gives advice and practical tips to help set you on the path towards finding, reaching and achieving your goals. 31: A personal retreat for the soul - Dance Studio owner, philanthropist, and adventurer Gina Eady

3/14/2022
Welcome back everyone! I am excited to share this interview with you. Today we are talking to my good friend Gina Eady. Gina is one of those people that lights up a room. Her inspiration and joy are contagious. But on top of all of that, she’s a certified badass. In high school, Gina asked her parents to tear out their basement and build her a dance studio. They obliged and at 17 Gina was in business. She taught dance lessons in the basement of her parents’ house to pay for college. After graduation she opened her first location and now has 4 Jive Dance Studios in Utah. Everything was going great, until it wasn’t. At one point, the world Gina knew fell apart around her. She separated from her husband, and with that, lost an entire community of friends. She found herself alone. For the next year she prayed for God to end it all, but this wasn’t going to be her life. Gina started to rediscover her power and take control. She determined what is important to her and has dedicated her energy to aligning her actions and behaviors to the life that she wants. Her belief: “We are put here to have what we want, not get what we don’t want. So when I see something I want, I figure out how to get it.” Gina says. Searching for inspiration, love, and joy, she discovered it. And as you’ll see in this episode, she exudes it. Enjoy this conversation with Gina Eady. In this episode Gina shares her rapid-fire practice for getting unstuck when you feel down on yourself. In third person tell yourself:

29: Garrett Ashe - Find your Modern Day Magic

2/14/2022
Garrett Ashe is an American author and poet whose self-described goal is to make readers fall in love with the magic of imagination. Garrett recently self-published his debut book of poetry titled, “Modern Day Magic”. In this book, Garrett takes readers on a dreamlike journey through the magic that hides just beneath the surface in Modern Day society. A fitting title as we learn in this episode. In the Spring of 2020 Garrett found himself like many others, unemployed. Things got worse after a car accident left Garrett injured and unable to walk. Having no job, he had no insurance, or way to pay for medical bills. Ultimately, he was forced to move back in with his parents. That doesn’t sound like magic at all, does it? Turns out, when you are confined to a bed, the only thing you can do is reflect. And so, he reflected, “Why did the universe put me here? I have two choices, I can curl up in a ball and cry, or I can devote the energy that I have to finding a way out.” He always knew he wanted to write a book, now he was given the opportunity. While stuck in bed Garrett committed to creating 3 unique poems a day. But, having catalogue of poems doesn’t make you an author. He still needed illustrators, editors, and publishers. This is where the magic happens. He found a community that cosigned his passion and supported his journey. In this interview Garrett says, “If I didn’t have the standard life that I knew stripped away from me, I would have never written this book.” Magic! Lets get to it, with poet and author Garrett Ashe. 28: David Taylor-Klaus - Evaluating your mindset: Change your perspective. Change your life.

1/31/2022
Today we are talking about Mindset. Mindset is the lens through which you perceive the world. As the saying goes, when you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change. If you think about it, this can be liberating because it gives you control. If you don’t like a situation or circumstance, a simple mindset shift can completely transform the way your life unfolds. But how do we change our thoughts when they seem to happen automatically and be beyond our control? David Taylor-Klaus is a mindset expert and coach helping leaders change the way they view success. His mission: To reintroduce successful business people to their families and the world outside the office. He does this by helping them get their mind right. Prior to establishing DTK Coaching, David was CEO of an internet strategy and web development firm that he co-founded in 1995. As a strategist, he worked with C-level executives, senior management teams, and boards of directors to broaden their perspective and develop initiatives for business growth. It was during this time, that David realized his success came from being reactive rather than proactive. He wasn’t participating consciously as a husband, father, business partner, or entrepreneur, and as David headed toward rock-bottom, he had a significant wake-up call that ultimately resulted in DTK Coaching. During this interview David addresses the significance of the stories we tell ourselves and how those stories impact our actions and ultimately our results. “The lens through which we see the world colors and changes the way we experience things.” How do we change our mindset to get the results we want? Let’s find out with our good friend David Taylor-Klaus. In this episode DTK tackles topics such as: Want more of DTK? DTKquiz.com dtkcoaching.com www.facebook.com/DTKcoaching

24: Iconic sports poster artist John Costacos - You are 1 “YES” away from success.

12/6/2021
John Costacos got his start as an entrepreneur in 1984 when he and his brother designed a T-shirt they called “Purple Reign”, a crossover play on the hit song from Prince and the Washington Huskies’ dominant defense. The shirts sold like gangbusters, and the Costacos brothers were in business. After selling T-shirts for a few years, John was in his local sports memorabilia store looking for his next business opportunity. Not one to over complicate things, John asked the store owner what the number 1 requested item was, that the store didn’t have. Posters of Kenny Easley, the Seattle Seahawks All-Pro Safety, was the immediate answer. Sparked with inspiration and a knack for combining sports and pop-culture, John went to work. He reached out to the Seahawks, pitched the idea to Kenny Easley’s manager, and before you know it, he had a photo shoot scheduled with one of his sports idols. He got his 1 “yes”, and they were on their way to success. John and his brother struck gold. They would create and sell more than 30 million posters of some of the most iconic athletes of all time. Willie Mays, Michael Jordan, John Elway, Bo Jackson, Roger Clemens, Larry Bird, and dozens more. If you were a sports fan and a teenager in the 90’s you likely had a Costacos brothers poster. Fast forward to 2021, John Costacos has found a new way to breathe life into an old business idea. He has started turning his posters into NFTs and selling the digital rights of his designs. Let’s see what he is up to and how these iconic posters will be made into digital collectibles. 23: Travis Rueckert - Using art to help people get through tough times

11/22/2021
Sometimes it feels like we only get to hear the stories of those who have already found success. Though those conversations are fun, and we get to learn a lot from them, sometimes I can’t relate because I’m not there yet myself. I want to hear from someone who hasn’t made it yet but is working the grind and finding themselves along the way. Travis Rueckert is an everyday family man from the midwest. He works a job, has a lovely wife and child, loves his dog, pretty much like the rest of us. Also like many of us, Travis wants to do something he is passionate about, so in his spare time, he is building an art business. Travis graduated with an art degree from Elmhurst College where he discovered a love for oil paintings. He has been featured in art galleries, hospitals, and businesses across the country. His most famous piece, titled “Love Wins”, won a competition and was featured on a billboard in downtown Manhattan. During Covid, Travis fell into a slump. He came to the conclusion that he was burned out on painting with oils and he wanted to do something that moved people emotionally. Travis started doing mixed media artworks where he uses uncommon materials to create his pieces. Once a week during his “Friday Fun” you can find Travis on his Instagram channel where he explores new creative ideas and mediums. It was great to hear from someone who is working the process, growing as an individual, and finding success. 19: Race car driver Toni Breidinger - How to set clear goals, stay focused, and go all-in.

9/27/2021
Today’s guest found her calling at the age of 9. You heard that right 9 years old. Toni Breidinger found her taste for speed when her father took her and twin sister Annie to Sonoma Raceway to race go-karts. From that moment on Toni hasn't looked back. Today, she's the all-time winningest female in United States Auto Club (USAC) history with 19 victories, a record that helped her get noticed and make the move into NASCAR's ARCA Menard Series. When asked about being the all-time winningest female Toni recognizes it’s a great accomplishment but it’s not the goal. The real goal, to become the all-time winningest driver. Ever. And she is well on her way. In February of this year, Toni made history as NASCAR's first Arab-American female driver, when she raced in the ARCA Menard Series at the Daytona International Speedway, finishing in 18th place. If that’s not enough for you, she also dabbles in modeling, which is something else she determined she was going to do as a kid, when in her diary she wrote not only that she wanted to be a model, but what agency she wanted to work for. Fast forward 10 years later, and she is modeling for that exact agency. Crazy. Though all this is great, the most impressive part about Toni is her impact on the sport. She is single-handedly making racing accessible to new demographics all over the world. Her influence can be seen in young girls that are inspired and motivated to follow in the superstar's footsteps. Breaking barriers, blazing trails, and bringing NASCAR into a new generation, this is Toni Breidinger. 9/13/2021
Do you ever dream of walking out of your job and starting your own business? The idea is intriguing, but for most of us the notion is followed by doubt in the form of “what if?”. What if I’m not good enough, what if no one buys my product, what if I fail? Today’s guest did just that. Chili Chullino left a secure job with a growing company to start his own venture, to chase a passion he didn’t even realize he had…and it failed. Chili has always had the spirit of an entrepreneur, but he never really understood how to leverage it. For years he worked for other companies, helping them develop marketing strategies, forecast growth, and move into new markets. He was clearly capable of growing and operating a business, but he always found himself doing it for someone else. Building someone else’s dream. Part of that was because Chili wasn’t clear on his path, on his dream. He knew he loved business and knew he wanted to build his own venture, but in what industry? Providing what service or product? That is until Chili realized his love for craftsmanship. In a moment, Chili’s life was on a new trajectory. He was going to build things with his hands. He left his secure job, and founded Orewood Solutions. Exciting, right? Taking the leap, trusting your own skills and pouring yourself into something you love. That is until the pandemic hit, clients lost jobs, materials costs went through the roof, and Chili had to close the doors on Orewood Solutions. So how do you rise from the ashes? How do you take a failure, refocus your mindset, and turn it into a success story? In this episode Chili Chullino explores.
