Episode 16: Injury, Rehab, and the role of Chiropractors with Dr. Chris Feil

6/16/2024
Physical Therapy will be a part of most people's lives at some point, whether it's due to injury, aging, a surgery, or preventing ailments. There are many types of practitioners out there who can help you get to where you need to be, but who is the right one? What should I look for in a doctor? and how should I go about continuing my care after my therapy? To discuss these questions I have invited Dr. Chris Feil on to the podcast. Dr. Feil has years of experience as a chiropractor working with the general public, athletes, and at the National Naval Medical Center helping our nation's wounded. He has recently expanded his practice to create a team of healthcare workers that work together to get the best possible patient outcomes called United Movement. You can find Dr. Feil on Instagram at @unitedmovementames and @teamchiroames.

Episode 13: The Mindset of Injury with Allie Welsh

5/23/2023
Injuries are unavoidable, especially for those who involve themselves in sports. Whether someone is active in athletics or not, an injury can be a large event in ones life and how the injury is dealt with is going to determine how it affects the rest of their life. In this episode we discuss our own injuries and how we dealt, or did not deal with, the aftermath of the injuries. At the end of the discussion, we came to the conclusion that nobody can control what happens to them, only how they respond to what happens. To discuss this topic I brought in a guest named Allie Welsh. Allie is a content strategist at IBM, but had a long and successful career in athletics including division one lacrosse as well as competing on the Dew Tour and Olympic trials in half pipe skiing. Allie accomplished all of these feats despite a long list of injuries and surgeries that tried to derail her success. Allie was kind enough to open up about her injuries, her support group, and how her life was affected in order to help others get through the same obstacles.
