not better or worse

6/13/2023
On today's episode of Running Through my mind, Hellah is here to talk about accepting where you're at and understanding that someone's 5k race can be someone else's run across America. The hardest thing you ever did doesn't need to compare to the hardest thing someone else has done. They're both hard in their own respects. Don't let anyone make your accomplishments feel unimportant just because they've achieved more or less. A true athlete understands that and shouldn't look down on anyone because we all start somewhere. Go get that run in! good enough

On today's episode of Running Through my mind, Hellah is here to talk about the expectations of being good at a sport or a hobby. Here to tell you first and foremost.. you can be the "worst" runner/golfer/crocheter in the world but it doesn't matter because you're doing it for yourself. Don't let anybody tell you that you need to be good at something to do it. Go get that run in! Time

2/10/2021
On today's episode of Running Through my mind, we're talking about time. I'm sure you've all heard it before: time is precious. I'm just here to remind you of that once again. I was on a run with my neighbor and friend and he brought up something his friend said to him recently about time. It instantly made me think further into it and you know I had to put it on the podcast! Thanks for listening along. Go get that run in! Going for it

1/5/2021
On today's episode of Running Through My Mind, we're talking about going for it. What sounds better to you.. day one, or one day? It can be so hard to take the first step but that's all it is.. the FIRST step! We put a lot of pressure on ourselves to reach our goals but if we focus on literally one day, one activity at a time it seems like nothing. I know everybody here can spend a little time on one thing they love and are passionate about. Even if it's as little as 5 minutes. When you add up 5 minutes every day for a year, that's 1,825 minutes ahead you've gotten and further toward your goal. Don't get too intimidated.. just go for it! Thanks for listening along. Moving forward

12/28/2020
On today's episode of Running Through My Mind, we're talking about moving forward. It has taken a long time for me to realize that sometimes, things we always wanted in life shift in a way to make room for things we've always needed in life. Just because we aren't succeeding in what we always thought we should be succeeding in doesn't mean we aren't succeeding as a whole. In the words of Zarathustra, good thoughts, good words, good deeds. That's what it should really all be about. Take advantage of the time you have and just keep moving forward. Growing up

11/30/2020
On today's episode of Running Through My Mind, we're talking about growing up. I just turned 30 and the idea of growing up is always something people around me have put into a negative light. In my mind, growing up just means getting to live longer.. and there's nothing bad about that! Don't let society and people around you put pressure on you because of your age. You'll do what you're meant to do when the time is right. Thanks for listening along. Go get that run in! Stepping it up

11/8/2020
On today's episode of Running Through My Mind, we're talking all about stepping it up. Sometimes in life you just have to get up and do something that challenges you - mentally, physically, or emotionally. Throwing yourself out of your routine can be the thing that grows you, so step up to the plate and hit it out of the park. Thanks for listening along. Go get that run in! Limiting your limits

9/17/2020
On today's episode of Running Through My Mind, we talk about limiting your limits. This episode was inspired heavily by Brian Reynolds. I was so honored to meet Brian last week during his world record 5k (he already held the world record at 16:49) attempt. Brian is a double amputee long distance runner and 6x world record holder and an all around amazing human. Learning to live without limitations will change your life and the first person that can stop putting limits on you is YOU. Just go out there and live! Thanks for listening along. Go get that run in! Patting yourself on the back

9/9/2020
On today's episode of Running Through My Mind, I talk about patting yourself on the back and celebrating your achievements.. whether it's waking up in the morning, getting out of bed, or running a marathon. Anything we do that we're proud of deserves a celebration and it's so important that we are the ones celebrating ourselves. We are given so many gifts that sometimes we don't even realize we are privileged to have. My mind was really all over the place the past few runs so this episode definitely reflects that. I hope you learn something and I hope you celebrate something that you are proud of yourself for today. Remember, you can't pour from an empty cup. Thanks for listening along. Go get that run in! Being the change

9/2/2020
On today's episode of Running Through My Mind, I talk a little bit about how I learned to "be the change." That's what was running through my mind on day 1206 of the run streak. It's always easier said than done but changing your focus from playing victim to actively working on the things you are capable of changing can make you see yourself and your life in a whole new perspective. I go a little more into detail about my injury recovery and the mental toll it has taken on me. Thanks for listening along. Go get that run in!
