Or Chaim students were challenged to record 30-second divrei Torah as part of this year's YOC grade vs. grade vs. staff Maccabiah. The students are currently on pace to have three 30-second divrei Torah for every parsha in the Torah by Shavuot. YOC students attended a Zoom assembly on Yom Hazikaron. They heard from guest speaker Rabbi Yoel Kenigsberg, who is currently a shaliach of Mizrachi UK, serving as the Rav of the Magen Avot Synagogue in Hendon, and Rav Shaliach of Bnei Akiva UK. Born in Johannesburg, Rabbi Kenigsberg was just 15 when his older brother was killed in combat defending the State of Israel. Rabbi Kenigsberg spoke about how the loss impacted himself and his family, and why he ultimately chose to make aliyah....
