I found this vinyl in my dad’s attic, after his death, and listened to it the first time in 2019. My favorite part of researching it was learning that there’s actually a Jimi Hendrix-connection! It’s an amazing album and one of the greatest ever recorded. Released March 10, 1967 under the Atlantic Records label.

Live at the Apollo by James Brown and The Famous Flames is considered one of the greatest live albums ever recorded and is in the conversion of greatest albums of all-time. It was recorded live on October 24, 1962 at Harlem’s Apollo Theater in New York City, New York and released in May of 1963.

Episode 3 focuses on introducing Vinyl Virgins to one of the most iconic rock albums off all-time. Not a Rock and Roll fan? That's okay! Believe it or not, this isn't about having fun. The point of Album University Podcast is to help others expand and grow their knowledge of the all-time great albums. I had never listened to this album until this episode. It's very accessible, even for people like me who, until 2020, knew next to nothing about Led Zeppelin.
