Cinematic Sagas

The Penultimate review episode. We only have the wrap-up and the vignettes left before we move onto the next series! We've enjoyed the ride thus far and are looking forward to continuing it! See you on the flippy-dip!

We are just one final episode away from finishing the MCU movies. It won't be the exact ending of our Saga together though. We have a wrap-up episode planned and then some interstitial episodes before our next 'season' begins. Stick around to find out what we will be covering!

Sorry it's late folks! But here it is, the beginning of the end. We talk about the ingenious use of the stones...as well as the idiotic....the sheer amount of stuff packed into this movie that never feels long, and the overall amazing package they deliver to us! Come along for the final ride!

Some say sequels are never as good as the original, and we test that a bit with this movie. In some ways it surpasses the original, in some ways it doesn't. Overall it's a fun ride and there was minimal editing needed to make this presentable which was very nice! Enjoy!

I had been super hopeful that this would redeem this character to Beth, but unfortunately, we caught her on a bad day. That and it being fireworks day means this is an odd episode all things considered. We are nearing the end and also one year, so The final three episodes will only have a week gap between them, and then we will do a wrap up to this first "season" of the show. Apologies for the missed update! MY computer crapped out on me and a replacement or repair took forever! To make up for it I plan to release back to back episodes of the final three MCU infinity saga! We are back on schedule though with Doctor Strange, a pretty great movie all around! Check out our mostly positive comments and find out how this movie rates!

We have reached Spider-man in the MCU, and only two months later than planned. Beth's reaction was a bit surprising though her responses continue to get better as her metamorphosis into full nerd continues. It's a lot of fun for both of us and the end looms. Insider secret, we only have a few more MCU movies to record! then it's on to a new franchise!

Black Panther was a very divisive movie when it came out and I finally was able to pin down why I didn't love it as much as I felt I should. It was a triumph no matter what and I hope they keep going!

We have hit quite possibly my favorite movie in all of the MCU. I love me some Spider-man, no doubt, but this movie does everything right. But not even my rose-tinted glasses can save me from the egregious Nerd Physics violations!

We Return to the MCU at last with Ant-man and the end of it all is in sight! This movie is a lot of fun and we had a blast going through it. Not a ton to say so stay safe and enjoy the episode!

Here it is! This movie is the entire reason we began this sidetrack and honestly, it has been a fun ride! Spiderverse is one of my all-time favorite movies and it is don't with such detail and love I can only think of one thing that did it better, but in some ways Spiderverse is incomparable...have I given away how I feel about this movie too much? Well we have a gues so come get their opinions!

Much like Spider-man 3, they just tried to cram too much in...but thankfully this marks the end of lesser quality spider-men for the foreseeable future!

We have made it to that lasagna loving, Monday hating, dog abusing........oops wrong one. The Garfield era, though short-lived was a lot of fun in my opinion and since I write up these blurbs you will deal with my opinion! Beth and I come away mostly liking this one. It does something better and some worse but this is still pre-MCU when a mediocre superhero movie was the norm! The biggest take away is near the end....chant with me oh masses, "One of us, one of us one of us....." And now we come to the end of the Maguire movies. And because of what they did, I am glad to be moving on. Tobey, you were my first but you weren't my best. Beth and I spend much of the review wondering why they thought putting all this into one movie was considered a good idea and lament the waste of some actually great ideas. And we see really what sets the MCU apart here as there is a lot of stuff introduced but not set up or paid off well. Next, we will continue with spiderman releases so Beth and I can replenish our recordings. Hope everyone is staying healthy! This is a fairly straight forward one which is sort of odd for us. I'd be worried about the audience being bored if Beth wasn't super tired and loopy, we all know those episodes are the best. We continue on our superhero journey and sidestep a little to explore some of the spiderman movies. All April we will diverge from our regular MCU movies to check out the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man movies. Don't worry we are going back, but as Spider-Man is the best and it's Chris' Birthday Month you will deal with it! It turned out to be a lot of fun and Beth loved all of it (no matter what she says!) I'm also using this as an opportunity to try some new things with our 'next time' section and some new music. Finally, I would love for you all to leave reviews if you can! "If you get killed, walk it off." We have finally arrived! The second team-up movie has come and gone, but we are still standing. Amidst this trying time with the coronavirus and all the shutdowns it has been great to continue to see these movies with Beth and share them with you. Beth was very tired in this episode which means there was a lot of digression content that just was not appropriate so hopefully nothing is too jarring. Overall this movie gets a bad rep and I don't think it is deserved. Come along to check out the various moments and hear the upcoming April Special!

We return to space to see how the guardians are doing before the next big earthbound showdown. We laughed, we cried, we had overall a good time so come check it out and then please for the love of Mike someone send in an email for Beth so she will shut up about it!

This is the one we have been waiting for, or at least Chris has. Possibly, his favorite movie of the entire MCU and it was a nail biter going in as Beth's enjoyment has been a little hard to predict. However, we have made it out the other side and the show will continue next time with Guardians 2 and then our next team-up video! And then...have we got a surprise in store for you!

Welcome back to Asgard Listeners! You always knew we had to go back, and maybe you were dreading the return after the first Thor. We sure were. This movie garners a lot of hate and it isn't all undeserved but overall it is a fun ride compared to the first Thor (go ahead and @ me if you want @AsIfYDK).
