Today is the first day of autumn if you go by the calendar. I took the new season by the horns and removed a tired crop… my watermelons and replaced it with a mustard cover crop. This chit chat is all about trimming my rosemary hedges. I was told when I first got here that the only thing I’d be able to grow is rosemary, to which I replied ‘watch me.’ But they were right – rosemary does indeed grow really well here. Things are being crossed off the giant list of things to do. It is so satisfying at the end of the day to draw a line through things that have the potential to linger on a list. I’m quite knackered. I have whipped up an enormous list of absolutely all things for the garden. Some are needs, some are wants and some are could's and should's.
