Chip and Dale are two chipmunks who start a detective agency, Rescue Rangers, along with their friends Gadget Hackwrench, Monterey Jack, and Zipper. The pint-sized detectives deal with crimes that are often "too small" for the police to handle, usually with other animals as their clients. The gang frequently find themselves going up against two particular arch-villains: the Mafia-style tabby cat (Fat Cat) and the mad scientist Norton Nimnul. This is the podcast that launched a spinoff! We talk about Voyager!!! This show focuses on the 24th century adventures of Captain Kathryn Janeway aboard the U.S.S. Voyager. Its crew complement is only 150. The ship itself is fast and powerful, and has the ability to land on a planet’s surface. It is one of the most technologically advanced vessels in Starfleet, utilizing computer circuitry that incorporates synthetic neural tissue. Ironically, Janeway’s inaugural mission aboard Voyager was to be her last in the Alpha quadrant. While attempting to capture the crew of a renegade Maquis vessel, both her ship and that of the Maquis were pulled into the distant Delta quadrant by powerful alien technology. Unfortunately, there would be no similar “express” route to take them home again. While other Star Trek shows mostly functioned on a episode-by-episode basis, Deep Space Nine (DS9) was the first to stray from the norm and create a more consistent storyline. Plots build up for multiple episodes, then culminate at the end of a season. This made it feel more like a sci-fi drama than just a sci-fi adventure show. Eric and I dig into one of our favorite stand alone episodes, making the return of the Tribbles! The animated comedy series STAR TREK: LOWER DECKS follows the support crew on one of Starfleet’s least important ships, the U.S.S. Cerritos, in 2380. Ensigns Mariner (Tawny Newsome), Boimler (Jack Quaid), Rutherford (Eugene Cordero) and Tendi (Noël Wells) have to keep up with their duties and their social lives, often while the ship is being rocked by a multitude of sci-fi anomalies. Christel has been so excited to share this with me! It is Star Wars: The Clone Wars, which is an animated television series set between the events of Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones and Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith. The series aired on Cartoon Network for five seasons from 2008 to 2013, while an abridged sixth season was released through Netflix in 2014. It was on July 19, 2018, an announcement came out that twelve more episodes would be produced for the Disney+ streaming service. Which were, finally, released beginning in February 2020 and ended on May 4, 2020.
