Algeria is a country in North Africa bordered on the north by the Mediterranean Sea. Covering an area of 2,381,741 square kilometers, Algeria is the largest country in Africa and the tenth largest in the world. Its capital is the city of Algiers. Algiers also holds the record for the city with the largest population in the country. The cover photo in this podcast is of an Algerian teen artist who adopted her style of painting from Picasso and Matisse. In the 1940s, a 16-year-old girl captured the minds of the art world’s elite. The self-taught artist, Baya Mahieddine (1931-1988) — known as Baya — was finally being celebrated in the first North American exhibition of her work, at NYU’s Grey Art Gallery, March 21st 2018. How timely that this Podcast falls on the anniversary of that special launch. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/boipelo-mofulatsi/support

The mysterious DVSN (pronounced “division”) is a PBR&B act based in Toronto, composed of singer Daniel Daley and producer Nineteen85. The duo is signed to OVO Sound. DVSN: "The day we made “Between Us”, I think we were in Miami for Art Basel. We had a little pool house that we renovated into like a little studio, little ping-pong set up, and play ping pong. And yeah, we set up in the back. Nineteen85 set up his laptop and he was going through loops. Just going through some guitar things. We originally had written it to guitar and then produced around that later on. I don’t think there’s a set way we do stuff. We kind of just always, whatever the mood or vibe is in the moment, we just go with that." --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/boipelo-mofulatsi/support

11th March Traffic University: Letter to My Former Self (Frank Ocean) Part 2

3/23/2021
Dear Boipelo, It has been a weird time lately. This letter is from 2021. You've given birth to a healthy baby boy and he is very smart; very chitchatty and energetic. He's started preschool and is being prepped for grade 1. I know it's been tough but you finally got a job, a car and a home. You're doing well. Better than you think you're gonna. I just want to reassure you that all your concerns and worries are for nothing. Things turn out pretty okay; you're okay. You've started new projects for side hustle, and 3 of those are profitable. I am so proud of you. Wipe the sadness off your face because things are about to get busy. Put on some lipstick and eyeliner because calls for interviews are about to flood in. Your spirituality improves too. Trust the process. Trust the thought out decisions. You're on a good path. Trust.
