As Christians my co-host Brandon and I discuss what can be extracted from Stoicism to build stronger roots in faith + enhance our own core beliefs. Later on we delve into some issues that have arisen with a more epicurean outlook in the United States that could potentially signal a Roman like fall in the next few decades. This episode was a little bit more open ended and disorganized given the difficulty of covering something as complex as The Prince. This was more of a conversation between Brandon and I but we cover some interesting parallels between Machiavelli’s works and current events. Once we get into more of his works we’ll surely revisit The Prince and Machiavelli as a whole. There’s too much to cover in The Prince for one episode so this is more of an analysis on current and historical events through a Machiavellian lens.

This episode we delve into Miyamoto Musashi’s most influential work, The Book of 5 Rings and discuss its contributions to Martial Arts and life as a whole. We found many parallels between this work with Bruce Lee’s the Tao of Jeet Kune Do as well as Sun Tzu’s the Art of War. Hey guys today’s episode was about Bruce Lee, his life, philosophies and his book the Tao of Jeet Kune Do. We had the privilege of being joined by our friend Jason Dick who is a Kuk Sool Won and TKD black belt. We all were very passionate about this episode as martial artists and hope you enjoy it! We found a lot of parallels between Lee and Musashi, their works echoing each other frequently. Although we didn’t explicitly compare them, many of Bruce Lee’s ideas possess almost Stoic flairs to them, with considerable Eastern influence. Show less
