From one major to another … The Masters is run and won for 2024, but this week it’s the game’s best women who take centre stage at their first major for the year, The Chevron Championship in Texas. The PGA Tour has two events – the signature RBC Heritage at Harbour Town as well as the Corales Puntacana Championship in the Dominican Republic — while the Asian Tour heads to Saudi Arabia for the Saudi Open with several LIV players – and 18 Australians – in the field. It’s not the only golf in the world this week but The Masters will drown out coverage of pretty much all else. From Florida and Vegas to Texas and Coffs Harbour, with a little bit of Augusta thrown in, it seems the sun never sets on men’s and women’s professional golf, or the amateur game. A week out from the year’s first major the PGA Tour plays the Valero Texas Open, the LPGA has a match play (sort of ) event in Vegas, LIV is back at Doral and the WPGA Tour of Australasia and Ladies European Tour heads to the much loved Bonville Golf Resort on the NSW mid north coast. There’s no slowing down for the travelling world golf circus after one of the most enthralling finishes of the year at The Players in Florida. The PGA Tour moves just down the road to Innisbrook’s Copperhead course and the Valspar Championship while the DP World Tour is in Singapore for the Porsche Singapore Classic. There’s one tournament that will dwarf all others this week and that’s the PGA Tour’s flagship event, The PLAYERS at TPC Sawgrass in Florida. It’s the 50th staging of the event and while several of the game’s biggest names won’t be in attendance those that are will no doubt put on a great show. While that’s going on in the U.S the final event of the Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia season plays out at The National Golf Club in Victoria with six players still a mathematical chance to play their way to the DP World Tour. There’s golf action in all parts of the world this week with the PGA Tour in Florida and Puerto Rico for the Arnold Palmer Invitational and Puerto Rico Open, while the DP World Tour continues its South African swing at Glendower Golf Club for the Jonsson Workwear Open. The long awaited return of Anthony Kim will create a lot of buzz around LIV Golf this week as they tee off in Jeddah while the PGA Tour plays in Florida, the LPGA continues their Asian swing at the HSBC Women’s World Championship of Golf. Meanwhile, the Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia combines with the Asian and Japanese Tours for the 103rd New Zealand Open and the DP World Tour is in South Africa for the SDC Championship. Tiger Woods returns at classic Riviera for The Genesis Invitational, the Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia move north for the Webex Players Series Hunter Valley and the Asian Tour starts for 2024 at the Malaysian Open. It’s party week on the PGA Tour at the WM Phoenix Open, while LIV Golf looks to win big in Las Vegas. The year is crawling to a close with just two events on the world’s major Tours this week. The year is not quite done and dusted in terms of professional golf with three events to look at this week. Meanwhile, some of Australia’s best head to Cathedral Lodge in Victoria for the two day Cathedral Invitational which begins with a Pro-Member.

Tiger Woods is coming back at his own tournament in the Bahamas. but most of the golf world’s attention will be firmly fixed on Sydney and the Australian Open. The dual men’s and women’s titles will be decided over The Australian and The Lakes layouts with some of the game’s biggest stars on show. Also on this week is the South African Open at the Gary Player designed Blair Atholl Golf and Equestrian Centre while the Asian Tour tees up in Taiwan.
