New Moon in Taurus Tarot Reading with Ana

5/7/2024
In this episode, we have a New Moon in Taurus Tarot reading with Iliana “Ana” Mirabal, a Brooklyn based performer, professional Tarot card reader, Pisces Sun, Leo Moon, and Libra Rising. Ana shares the forecast for the energy of the New Moon on May 7th. She speaks about being in the post Mercury Retrograde phase, coming out of the fiery Aries season and how to work with the thematics of Taurus season. ‘We're being invited to be present to the moment, because like I said, those seeds are planted and before we get the results we go through that germination time and that’s what we’re in now. I think that we can be a very result oriented society, but there’s really nothing you can do when a seed is germinating other than to wait. You can stare at it or give yourself a break…we have to just find presence for ourselves.’ For seven years, Ana has practiced the art of Tarot. As a lifelong storyteller, seeing the world through the archetypes of the cards came naturally. Her mission is to leave her clients with a sense of peace and clarity after each session. 25. Endometriosis, Fertility Journey and the Power of Community with Chelsea Leyland

4/11/2024
In this episode, I’m joined by Chelsea Leyland, a London-born DJ, cannabis and epilepsy activist, and co-founder of Looni, a menstrual health and wellness company on a mission to elevate the menstrual cycle and democratize body literacy. Chelsea and I discuss how her experience of chronic illnesses and the pursuit of healing have deeply shaped her life and how that has led her on a path of advocacy work. Chelsea’s determination to not give up, persist far beyond what doctors have told her is possible, and to actually do something about the injustices of the medical system is beyond incredible. Living with two chronic health conditions, epilepsy and endometriosis, has shaped Chelsea’s life, as she now understands it, for the better. After suffering for many years from misdiagnoses and strong prescription drugs meant to improve her condition she discovered cannabinoids. The use of cannabinoids simultaneously began to improve Chelsea’s experience of endometriosis. After reaching the end of the line with medical help from doctors, she was forced to look outside the box and self-study, and she shares the wealth of healing modalities she turned to and learned from instead. This is the source of one of her biggest platforms, that women are often not correctly diagnosed with menstrual issues, and even if they are, they are not provided with the tools to heal. Chelsea Leyland is a born and bred Londoner living in Brooklyn, NY. She has worked as a deejay for 10+ years alongside brands such as Chanel, Valentino, and Fendi, opening for acts such as Duran Duran and Diplo. Chelsea, who has a passion for wellness, is also the proud co-founder of Looni, a new menstrual health and wellness company on a mission to elevate the menstrual cycle and demystify hormonal health. Looni offers support through education and innovative, science-backed offerings. As an epilepsy, endometriosis, and plant medicine activist with a passion for building community and supporting others, Chelsea produced and was featured in the documentary Sisters Interrupted, which was recently accepted to the Raindance film festival in London. She has been invited to speak at the European Parliament and Cambridge University about her journey with epilepsy and medical cannabis. 4/2/2024
In this episode, I’m joined by Paola Atlason, a Wholistic Nourishment Teacher cultivating body-trust. She helps women restore balance in their lives, and release physical, energetic, and emotional weight. Paola and I talk about the joy of holistic nourishment and reconnecting with the desires of our bodies on a day-to-day basis. Paola’s wisdom of self-nourishment is like receiving a big hug and may be just the permission you need to ease a little deeper into your body’s own wisdom. In our age of information overload, where everyone has many opinions and not many facts, Paolo emphasizes the importance of leading our own nourishment journeys, instead of following someone else’s, which will look different for everyone. Paola’s approach to a healthy, nourishing lifestyle stems from giving people healthy ingredients from which to make their own nourishing recipe, instead of giving people a set of rules to follow. Paola Atlason is a Wholistic Nourishment Teacher based in New York City. 22. Why It's Never Too Late to Pursue Your Passions with Frances Shoemack

2/1/2024
In this episode, I’m joined by Frances Shoemack, a former winemaker and founder of Abel, an all-natural fragrance company that’s equal parts ethical and luxurious. Frances and I discuss how following a curiosity led to her soul’s calling and the beauty of following multiple paths and interests. Frances shares a “lobster shell” analogy about emerging on the other side of discomfort, plus lessons learned from a decade spent revolutionizing the fragrance industry. Oh, and stay until the end of the episode for Frances’ mantra — created to help relieve tension and anxiety when life feels overwhelming. A decade ago, Frances was searching for a truly natural perfume and came up short. Tired of putting the chemicals found in synthetic fragrances on her skin — and knowing their impact on her body and the environment — the idea for Abel was born. Having studied winemaking and cutting her teeth in the NZ wine industry, Frances took her penchant for the olfactory, found the right experts from around the world, and set out on a mission to create the world’s best 100% natural perfume back in 2013, revolutionizing the natural fraganance industry. Since then, the category has exploded — with Abel at the forefront. Frances has built out and continues to lead an international team of (mostly) women across bases in Amsterdam and Abel’s Wellington HQ. With an intrinsically global focus, exports make up more than 80% of Abel’s revenue. Today, Abel is sold both in D2C and in over 200 high-end beauty, lifestyle and fashion stores across 25 countries, to much acclaim. In this episode, I’m excited to be joined by Kirsten Weis, a former makeup artist who used her natural roots and her knowledge of beauty to pursue uncharted territory in the beauty industry. In 2010, she created Kjaer Weis, a luxury sustainable beauty brand offering refillable packaging and natural ingredients. Kristen also shares how she defines beauty, her vision and direction for the brand, and challenges she faced along the way. About MAKE Beauty: Partnering with biotech labs, MAKE formulas utilize sustainably sourced botanical materials, Lab Engineered Natural Ingredients (or L.E.N.I.) and skin-compatible synthetics that push beyond the concept of clean. Barron originally started practicing Vedic Meditation as a way to balance out the intense energy of living in New York City, but it turned out to be something much more pivotal in his life. Barron highlights how he was able to integrate the extrasensory awareness that he developed during a 3,000-hour teacher training and what that experience revealed to him about collective consciousness. Meditation is often a journey of coming back home to yourself, which intrinsically impacts how you show up in the world. Barron and I touch on the gifts that we’ve gotten from meditation, including stepping into our creativity and dismantling old patterning. We also discuss the core themes of “Be Here Nowra,” like community activation, the domino effect of one small change, and the beauty of unsuspecting practitioners.
