Liliana Rodriguez is an award winning Senior Service Designer and User Centred Design (UCD) leader, working for NHSE (National Health Service England) for Digital Medicines. Her education includes a BA in Product Design, an MA in Interaction Design, and a PhD in Digital Services. Liliana has worked in commercial, non-profit, and higher education environments on design projects in health, GDS (Government Digital Services), and innovation for SMEs (small and medium enterprises). She is also an Associate Lecturer at the Open University for UX & Interaction and Design Thinking modules. Our interview unravels Liliana's professional journey, her insights into the role of the designer in service design, and her team's work on two key projects related to HIV health. In these projects, Liliana emphasizes how participatory co-design and local context were keys to resolving challenges around access to HIV tests and #makingHIVstigmahistory. Episode 8: Regeneration through Creative Art Practice

In this special episode, our SIC Health team interviews Sandra Viviana Murillo-Morales, arQ RunicoS. Viviana is an interdisciplinary visual artist practicing conscious ambidextrous drawing, the use of both hands while drawing. She identifies as a neurodivergent individual. Trained as an architect in Colombia, freehand drawing was always an essential communication tool in her professional practice in landscape architecture and urban design. After Viviana was diagnosed with advanced ovarian cancer in 2019, she began exercising both hands to alleviate pain from peripheral neuropathy in her fingers, a chronic side effect caused by cancer treatments. She developed her drawing technique using coloured pencils and watercolour on different media. Her creative process is intuitive and focuses on gratitude for life. Our conversation reveals Viviana's cancer journey, her regeneration through her art, her advocacy work with Ovarian Cancer Canada, her identification as a neurodivergent individual, and her deep connection to the healing power of nature. Design's origins stem from creative practices like the arts, music and writing. In this episode, we explore creative writing practice by interviewing two coaches from Firefly Creative Writing. Firefly Creative Writing helps people reconnect to the pleasure and power of writing through workshops, coaching and snail mail, online and in-person. Writing coaches, Kim and Mary, share their personal journeys with writing, their experiences with coaching, and most importantly, how they create diverse and inclusive spaces for writing together with BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Colour) communities.
