Ep 61 - ft David and Anuja Pereira - Breaking away from golden handcuffs and limiting beliefs by quitting and redesigning life around goals through investing

5/15/2024
Anuja and David Pereira open up about their transformative journey toward financial and lifestyle liberation. Anuja, once a teacher, found her calling in real estate after recognizing the constraints of her teaching career by watching teachers ‘hang on’ because they had to. With David's support as the owner of a B2B marketing agency, she broke through limiting beliefs and ventured into the real estate realm, where they both have created multiple income streams. David shares his daring path to entrepreneurship, leaving stability behind to explore the world and eventually partnering with an agency after consulting stints. His experiences underscore the importance of embracing opportunities and embracing new experiences. Delving into real estate, particularly the rent-to-own strategy, David highlights its role in providing stability and extra income. Moreover, Anuja champions financial literacy and lifestyle design, spreading awareness through her podcast, Beyond the Bell. Both Anuja and David get into the significance of communication and alignment in couples' financial journeys and other pivotal factors to nurture a strong relationship beyond professional and parental responsibilities. This episode has so much invaluable guidance for couples navigating their financial futures together, we would say this could act as couples therapy! Why do these conversations matter? Ep 45 - Health is wealth: Why you need to prioritize your FITNESS and recognizing the check engine light of life.

1/24/2024
Welcome back to another episode of Your Everyday Rich Podcast! In Episode 45, we have a living room conversation about the “check engine light” of life. It’s a term about aging that someone jokingly described to Jason few years ago, but didn’t take seriously until recently because of ‘things’ that started happening to his health. And seeing ‘stuff’ happen this his friends also gave more reason to address the early warning signs. With many millennials turning 40 or approaching their last years of their 30’s, prioritizing fitness is something that should be put to the forefront of their lives. And for good reason. Your body starts to show its wear and tear, the good ol’ metabolism slows down, body parts don’t look the same (or sag/expand), and muscles just randomly tweak easier (i.e. think pulling your back getting out of bed LOL). It probably doesn't help that for many millennials, being ‘busy’ with life, career, and raising kids hasn’t made it easier to work in the 6 pack of abs. Jason and Jenn go through the real barriers to get ‘motivated’ to make physical fitness a priority when it’s so hard to ‘want’ to do it. They share their evolving journey on how they recognized these barriers as EXCUSES, how they mentally decided to take action, and how they made it work so that working out has become the thing they CAN NOT skip now. If you have found yourself constantly saying ‘This year is the year I get back into shape’ but never find the spark or are able to eliminate the barriers aka excuses, then you will want to listen to this convo. Because like it or not, that check engine light is coming on soon, and you don’t want to wait until it does to make your health a priority. Because HEALTH is our ultimate WEALTH Why do these conversations matter? They matter because these convos are happening behind closed doors and we want them to be front and centre so you can be empowered to achieve financial, personal and family success. You don’t know what you don’t know but we are here to change that and provide you with the info, insight, and tips you can use to make the best decisions around your money, investing and family life so that it is built around Your Everyday Rich life. 🚀 Follow Jason and Jenn’s social media: Jason’s Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/mrjasonkao Jenn’s Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jennfahh27 Your Everyday Rich instagram https://www.instagram.com/youreverydayrich Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@youreverydayrich DM us or leave a comment! Ep 42 - The Psychology of Money debate: How much money is enough?

1/3/2024
Welcome back to another episode of Your Everyday Rich Podcast! In Episode 42, we have a living room convo about the complex relationship around money and the never ending human pursuit of possessions and wealth: How much money is “enough”? When is enough.. well, enough? In Chapter 3 of one of our favorite books The Psychology of Money by Morgan Housel, this concept of hedonic treadmill is from the social pressures of comparison and there is an expectation that we have to have more in order to be successful or happy. These social comparisons lead to creating bigger goalposts that we keep trying to kick through, but can never reach in order to ‘win’ the game of life because they always keep moving. No one wants to be the one driving a beater car, no name clothes, and a small yet comfortable home. It’s go big or go home
 But
At what point is pursuing more money worth sacrificing other aspects of your life. We love this book so much that we decided we will do a mini series on the key topics in the book and no better way to start with talking about how much money is enough! How much money is enough for you? Why do these conversations matter? They matter because these convos are happening behind closed doors and we want them to be front and centre so you can be empowered to achieve financial and personal success.
