In an ideal world, wedding suppliers will all get along, make friends and be able to work in harmony, even if you only met for the first time on the day. Sadly that isn’t always the case and we’ve probably all got a story where we’ve worked with someone who just doesn’t want to play nice. As a podcast that’s hosted by both photo & video co-hosts, we think we’re in a pretty good positions to have an open chat about this. We’ll offer our advice on how to stay professional in front of the couple, find workable solutions to getting what you need and maybe even avoid this from growing into a bigger problem as the day progresses. This episode isn’t about spilling gossip, it’s about giving you validation to set boundaries with difficult peers, being the bigger person and ultimately getting what you need from that wedding, with or without the other persons help. Unless you’re living under a rock, you’ve probably seen how commonplace the use of AI is online and in everyday life now. So, if you’re a wedding creative and fearing that you’re going to get left behind by the robots, then this episode is for you. The last time we did a deep dive on AI was back in Episode 17 and in the 18 months since we recorded that, the changes and new features that have emerged almost beggar belief. From the dawn of generative fill and Imagen AI’s colour grading, we’re now in a world, where Ai can’t only help edit your photos, it can create whole new images and video, all by feeding it a simple prompt. In this episode Chris does a full rundown on the AI tools he used to create a full-blown Christmas advert for his business and the impact that sharing that on Instagram had. Happy New Year! (If it’s not too late to say that still!?) We’re back for our first episode of 2026 and we kick things off with a quick catchup about how we spent the festive period and Chris’ wedding on New Years Eve. It wouldn’t be an episode of the WCC without some form of topic and this week we have a good one… Are you productive or are you a procrastinator?? With edits from last year still looming and a tax return to file before the end of the month, we thought this was a good chat to have to we can all harness that productivity and get caught up to speed, before the 2026 season kicks in. For us, it’s all about being honest with yourself; knowing how & when that procrastination can creep in and how to keep it at bay. We talk through the routines, mindset and tools we use in order to be productive and also offer the theory that procrastination isn’t always a bad thing. Our final episode of 2025, but due to a late release it’s now also the first episode of 2026! Back at the beginning of December, Tom & Chris sat down to record what has become an annual tradition of the Wedding Capture Co; our big end of year episode where we give ourselves (and each other) our annual appraisal of how we’ve found the past 12 months. We take stock of our highs & lows of the year as well as set some goals for the new year ahead. We take turns to talk about our journeys through 2025; a year which has been resoundingly tough for wedding suppliers and how we’ve navigated ourselves through that and come out the other side. Chris’ year has involved becoming a father, buying a camcorder and really finding his ideal client, whilst Tom’s has been more about doing less weddings, getting reacquainted with film photography and the rewards of being mentored. It’s fair to say that most wedding creatives work for themselves - so what better topic for a December episode than a good chat over the myths, wins & realities of running your own business in the wedding industry? The Christmas tree is up, but the gloves are off when it comes to sharing the honest truths of self employment. Whilst we’re definitely not qualified experts in business (or accountants for financial advice!) we both have a decade of running wedding business’ behind us and at times run them in very different ways, but with quite similar goals in mind. Following on from our recent episode around the issues of every supplier wanting to get BTS right now; we decided it was the right time to share our thoughts, views and experiences of working with content creators, whose soul purpose at a wedding is to capture ‘Content’ for the couple that’s hired them. The rise of content creators across weddings in 2025 has been pretty dramatic and the genre is already starting to find niches of its own with some offering drone, Super 8 and audio of ceremony & speeches alongside their phone photo & video. This episode definitely isn’t a ‘bash’ on content creators - if anything it’s more of a way for us to define our opinions on the genre, share our experiences and hopefully set the stage for an episode where we can have a CC come on and have a solid conversation around all of this. It’s an interesting chat and really insightful to see how the perspectives of a photographer and videographer can feel quite on this.
