Alec Gillis grew up in Orange County, California within sight of the Disneyland fireworks show. As a kid he roamed the mean streets of Main Street Disneyland, It was here he gained a lifelong appreciation of animatronics, but it was in the local movie theatres that he fell in love with genre films. At age 20 Gillis began working for Roger Corman on a film called BATTLE BEYOND THE STARS, along with James Cameron and Gale Anne Hurd. After working for various Makeup Effects luminaries such as Tom Savini and Greg Cannom, Gillis was recommended by James Cameron to Stan Winston, where Gillis worked on effects for classic films such as ALIENS and PREDATOR. In 1988 he co-founded Amalgamated Dynamics, Inc. (ADI) with Tom Woodruff, Jr. TREMORS was the company’s first feature, and the film’s giant subterranean worms gained Gillis notoriety. The duo’s work garnered Oscar nominations for STARSHIP TROOPERS, ALIEN 3 and won for DEATH BECOMES HER. Gillis has won numerous other awards such as BAFTAs and SATURNs. His work has been seen in BRIGHT, IT 1 and 2, and currently the Disney/Fox Predator feature PREY, directed by Dan Trachtenberg. During his 3 decades with ADI, Gillis has also written numerous screenplays, written 3 books and produced/directed a feature film, HARBINGER DOWN. His new solo company, Studio Gillis, will continue the tradition Gillis is known for of high-quality Creature, Make Up and Practical Effects. Jesse Garcia stars in the Disney+ feature, ALEXANDER AND THE TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE, NO GOOD, VERY BAD DAY. He can currently be seen in the Netflix feature, THE MOTHER, opposite Jennifer Lopez. He recently shot the Village Roadshow, Michael Olmos directed feature, MURDER CITY, opposite Stephanie Sigman. He can also currently be seen in the Amy Redford film, ROOST opposite Summer Phoenix , which played at the Toronto Film Festival (TIFF). He can also be seen starring as the lead role in the Eva Longoria-directed biopic for Searchlight, FLAMIN’ HOT, based on the Flamin’ Hot Cheetos creator Richard Montanez, that premiered at SXSW 2023. Currently streaming, he can be seen in the Michael Bay blockbuster, AMBULANCE, opposite Jake Gyllenhaal. He also just wrapped the Amazon pilot ONCE UPON A TIME IN AZTLAN opposite George Lopez. Before that, he shot the new season of NARCOS. Garcia is an American actor best known for his award-winning film Quinceañera written and directed by Wash Westmoreland and Richard Glatzer, executive produced by Todd Haynes. The film won both the Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival in the Dramatic Independent Feature Competition. Rell Battle is an actor, writer, stand up comedian and all around great guy! He has been featured on TBS's Conan as well as a featured act on Will Smith’s This Joka for Roku, producing Will Smith at home with Westbrook and served as creator and executive producer of Comedy Centrals' Roast Battle. On the acting front, you might recognize him from shows like CBS’ multi-camera comedy series Superior Donuts, ABC’s Black-ish, NBC’s Good Girls, and he recurred on ABC’s The Good Doctor. Rell recently sold a half-hour single-cam comedy to NBC with Hazy Mills and Universal TV. In 2022 alone Rell co-starred in the Hulu pilot “Bammas” and featured in Donald Glover’s latest project “Mr. and Mrs. Smith for Amazon. Rell wrote and starred in “OFF Fairfax” which was a 2022 Tribeca Film festival Official selection.” He currently stars in the comedy series KILLING IT opposite Craig Robinson for NBC/Peacock. We discuss a little bit of everything, her journey through the industry, her passion, the importance of mental health and so much more! Mel studied Drama at Loughborough University, before heading into the industry and interning at a number of places including Hubbard casting, the National Student Drama Festival and a number of performer agencies. In 2016 she moved to Spotlight and started on the membership support team as Membership Coordinator and then moved to Senior Performer Executive. Mel then became part of a new team where she undertakes the role of Customer Success Manager for performers at Spotlight.
