Does anyone know ? (music plays) 📍 all right. Let's go for this trail. Hi, you found the imposter club. A safe place for people working in TV and the creative industries. To finally admit. That we're all just winging it. Phil Edgar Jones, Congratulations on the O B E. PHIL EDGAR JONES (GUEST): I was thinking should I put it on my email signature? And then I thought, no, you just look like a bit of a dick if you do that. KIMBERLY (HOST): I'm Kimberly Godbolt. And what I've learned from my career, directing TV series and staffing teams behind the screens is that spoiler alert. More successful people than you ever realize. Still feel like a fraud. OLLY LAMBERT (GUEST) You just fake it till you make it until you die. I think that's my motto. KIMBERLY (HOST): ... but you don't get to hear their stories. That changes right here in this podcast STU RICHARDS (GUEST) Don't say anything libellous. No, don't say anything libellous. KIMBERLY (HOST): I'm talking to senior TV types about their own moments of self doubt and failure. FARAZ OSMAN (GUEST) It was a very difficult part of my career I'm never gonna be able to convince these people that I'm part of their club. That's why I might as well just hand in my membership card and get out of here. KIMBERLY (HOST): How deeply it's affected them.... OLLY LAMBERT (GUEST): I would wake up between five and five 30 in the morning with a sense of terror, like literal terror, , I would sob, - “this is too much, this is too big” KIMBERLY (HOST): And ultimately what they've learnt in their pursuit of a successful, but also fulfilling creative career. STU RICHARDS (GUEST): The more out of place, I felt, the more I've enjoyed it, to be perfectly honest. KIMBERLY (HOST): Maybe we can file a thing or two away for future ref. PHIL EDGAR JONES (GUEST): You're gonna make mistakes in your career. You're gonna make mistakes in life. But I don't regret anything because, uh, it, it taught me quite a lot about myself KIMBERLY (HOST): So come and get comfortable being uncomfortable. KARI LIA (GUEST): They want this to be Netflix's biggest documentary series of the year Of course. I mean, God, talk about the fear! KIMBERLY (HOST): I can't wait to let you in to the Imposter Club STU RICHARDS (GUEST) Nobody in this industry is worthy of that much respect. Apart from Alison Hammond KIMBERLY (HOST): Coming soon. PHIL EDGAR JONES (GUEST): I'm already having imposter syndrome, thinking I'll be the worst guest you've ever had, and it'll be a massive disappointment. (both laugh) -- Music ends. Trail ends --
