In this episode, Karen Killalea shares the key learning points from a recent decision of the Irish Workplace Relations Commission. An employee was awarded the maximum compensation available under the Irish Employment Equality Acts of two years remuneration. The Adjudication Officer was critical of the employer's response of the complaint and the management of the investigation which followed the complaint. The 2023 Act was signed into law on 4 April 2023; however, it is not yet effective and is subject to further commencement orders.
